The Dark Knight Rises - Hacked Blk CTS-V Coupe Full Correction & CQuartz Finest

Great work! I am amazed with the attention to detail. After seeing this write up, I think it's time for me to throw in the towel on detailing.... :D

Question: how do you know this car won't be swirled and marred lets say 2 months from now? The owner tracks it and let it get to that point before...

Just wondering what you all do to ensure that... Maintenance wash? How-to write up for owners? Etc

I basically vet every owner who has any type of polishing done to let them know that this is only as permanent as their discipline is. We will be doing the maintenance washes (he's already asked us to do it weekly) so that helps a LOT...and i told him no dusters/wipe downs etc. If he listens he should be happy for a long time to come...if not...well, i can't do anything about that.

As far as "letting it get to that point before"...he had a lot of repainting done to it and it was in the mechanics shop for god knows how long...so MOST of that came from there as he wasn't even in town for the most part since he's had it....now whether or not the shop will mess up his ride again i have no control over...im assuming he would tell them not to screw up though...or else the bill is on them.

excellent work!!!
the car didn't come that way from the factory did it???

Amazing work Will and Dani. What did you use on the wheels and tires? It looks to be foaming up like crazy.

Amazing work like always!

Thank you :)

Lol no...like i said in the write up, several panels were repainted..and it had a lot of work done to it.

To clean them? Tires i used 3D Tire & Wheel Cleaner and wheels i used 1Z Colour Tech and then i add a bit of soap into my bucket of water when cleaning them

Great work as usual guys.

Thanks Francisco :) Appreciate it!
Thank you

can you tell me more about the polyshave towel , compared to clay

I like it quite a bit...like i told someone else who inquired about it...it works just as well as clay, covers a larger area, lasts longer and is cleanable (just use common sense and know when to clean it and when to get a new one) and is actually quite good for getting into tight areas. Its also nice not having to worry about leaving clay residue around emblems or clear bra lines.

thanks im not a fan of clay bars at all. between the residue and the idea of using them with the contaminants remaining still inside even when you ball them back up and create a new surface. i find myself wanting to throw it away after any job to prevent marring up the next car. im pretty green to the forum . and you seem like a real pro, can you tell me is there a situation you might grab the clay over the towel or is it a full time replacement for you ? and what is you favorite lube with the towel ?
Thanks

Well first, welcome to the site :). You will find good info on here...you may also find bad...so use common sense and try things out for yourself no matter what you read. Nothing beats on the job training (thats how i learned most of what i do).

Secondly...if you are getting a lot of clay residue when using a clay bar, you probably arent using enough lube (I was SO guilty of that the first time i tried a clay bar!)

If i'm dealing with a paint thats marring like hell from a clay towel then i might go for the clay bar...but im to the point now to where i'll only clay a vehicle if im going to be polishing it...which will remove the marring anyway. If its just a wash/wax job i will use iron x and iron x snow soap which does a good job of getting most contaminates off...with out marring.

Clay lube i will usually use about 1/2 oz of Ultima Waterless Wash mixed with 31 oz of water. :)
