"Stanced" Exotics - Someone Please Kill Me

The blue Ferrari is functional. It's on a $10k set of airbags that are designed to handle better than coilovers.

"As far as beating 95% of modded imports, are you firetruckin' kidding me that sheet, come on!"

Nope, not kidding.

A stock Denali has 405hp.

With only a BlackBear tune and cat back exhaust my two ton 4-wheel drive truck will walk away from 95% of the Imports in LA, which are all noise and no GO.

Cool story BRO!

"A Civic will never be cool", hmmm, not sure where your from but outside of the world of 405 hp 5000 lb 4wd's that run sub 14 second 1/4 mile times, the compact car world is alive and well, there's also a HUGE, even more HUGE than your Lingenfelter SUV, oh wait, those have 1000 hp and run with GT-R's from 0-60 mph, your has 405 hp but could probably "hang" with a GT-R no doubt since you've got power close to that of the GT-R...where was I, LOL, oh a HUGE classic JDM scene too where early 70's HiPo cars are imported over here, like this one for instance which I just saw 2 weekends ago:

What the F happened to this thread? Seriously? :nomore:

One of the things I like so much about this forum is we all drive different vehicles and I THOUGHT there was mutual respect?

OMG- I am biting my lip here so bad...

You'd think so Monica but like I posted earlier, its a one way street with respect and cars. Its bow down to Murica and everthing else sucks because its either fwd, 4 banger and not frome here, or a combo of all of that. There's always a fear of what you don't know and "etched in stone" what is cool or great. The rise in popularity of the Camaro and Challenger is because people that had em' back in the day can now have one again but back in late 60's/early 70's they were a lot younger and it was the "it" car, kinda like how the "it" cars now are small import cars, funny how that works itself out, the more things change the more they stay the same.

Let it go Roger.... just know you would destroy any of the yank tanks as soon as they hit a turn.

That and you obviously don't need to compensate for anything

The 6.2L Denalis and Escalades had the 405 HP, from the 07-2014 gen, the revised 6.2L hasn't been released yet for the 2014+ trucks and the 2015+ SUVs.

First off, a Civic is not a GTR. Not sure how that entered your argument for childish mods.

I think you may have missed my original point entirely.

I don't hate imports or tuners. I think it is amazing what can be done with the performance of these cars, given the limited displacement.

What I do dislike is a loud Coffee Can bolted onto an unwashed, peeling CC Civic. I put that vehicle in the same category as a Stanced Exotic. Waste of money, poor styling/noise choice and zero increase in performance.

My point for starting this thread was the show how silly (IMHO) it is for someone to spend major $$ on a car who's sole purpose is performance - only to destroy that performance for "looks".

I wasn't looking to bash any cars - just wondering why someone would ruin the handling or performance of an exotic car that is so few and far between.

However, when I see a VW or a Civic that is slammed - that's a different story. It's not for me, but there are so many of those cars on the road...

But we all have opinions...Doesn't matter what you drive or what you do to it.

Monica, LMAO!

You know me too well here, so do the moderators, LOL!

Our forum here is awesome, a couple pics of crazy stanced cars and then it goes into Murica and drag trucks and SUV's and arguing hp stats about land barges driven by petite women w/ noone in them most of the time, atleast that's what I see here in Chicagoland anyways.

How does one compare an $80K SUV to a $25K Civic Si or used Honda that some kid trying to get around town in and is maybe trying to learn about cars and just can't afford a new car...yet. I can't wait to see what the car scene is like in 20 years, hope I'm around for it because I'll remember stuff like this, trust me because when I had my 87' GN in the mid 90's I was told by fat gut muscle car guys from the 60's that my car was NO muscle car because it was a V6 and had a turbo. You see I've been in training for topics like this for a long time now!

Is "Murica" meant to be disrespectful to the United States of America?

I have not seen that slang spelled out before now.

Why can't all of us auto-nutz just get along? :dunno:

Meanwhile Back At The Ranch/Thread Topic:

•It may get really interesting in a few (short) years to see if/how all of the diverse "car scenes" in America will get along with the "new kids on the block" when the former Bicycle-Empire starts to (inevitably) call in their debt.

•Might be best not to be afraid of "heights" when that happens!!

No, if anything it is more of a jab at the way "rednecks" talk. Who are known for fuel guzzling V8/Diesel trucks on "Super Swampers" (sorry Mike your truck is nice) that a lot of "green yuppies" look down on as they drive the Prius.

For what it is worth, I can appreciate all makes, models, and work gone into each custom. I may not do some things to my car , but can appreciate it. Like everything in life YMMV, and "to each his own".

Bob

:haha:

I can be as Redneck as they come, or as refined as a City Slicker. I like being well rounded and enjoy myself were ever I am. I always like me a mid 80's K5 with a 454 on some 35's

Most of these cars are sitting on airbags, so that when at park, they drop the frame on the ground, that is not to say that they do not have the camber issue when they raise them up, but this mostly a look at rest.

HUMP

I can only speak for myself but I would never disrespect our country. That said, you only need to go back a few monthes to an issue of MT where they had the upcoming 15' Mustang on the cover and it said MURICA'.

Speaking of the upcoming Mustang I can hear it now, "why in the hell did they put a 4 banger in it, that ain't no Honda!" You know what, I have to agree with them, Honda doesn't have a mid-sized, RWD car but a better comparison would be the Audi A5 from the standpoint of 4, 6 and 8 cylinder engine choices, whatever your needs and wants are, they've got it! Long live the Mustang, a car everyone can and will love, well, maybe not Camaro and Challenger owners.

Why is it a "jab" at the way "Rednecks" talk?

Seems like a bigoted way to express yourself IMO.

No one here is making fun of any other Cultures on the Forum. Why is it OK to poke fun at the way someone you assume is from the South speaks?

I actually live in Los Angeles

BTW...as far as I know; everyone here is typing, so I am even less sure how you are able to determine someone's culture by the way they "talk" and then make assumptions based on that.

I re-read all of my posts. All of them are clearly my opinion.

I love cars. I have owned imports and domestics. I can appreciate all of them for what they are worth, when done in good taste...which is clearly based on my own personal taste....as is yours.
