Last night I got my first new car. Unfortunately, it was in the showroom so a lot of people probably touched it, but luckily after inspecting it in full sun light there are only a few minor swirls. My plan is to wash, Iron X, clay, polish with Ultimate Compound or Polish by hand with an orange hand pad (this proved effective on a heavily swirled VW, so it should make quick work of this car) and then protect with CQuartz.

As you can see, all of the stickers are still on the car. They thought I was crazy for not letting them take them off, but I didn't want to risk anyone attempting to clean the rest of it up after the stickers. I still need to take off the dealer plate frames.

Nice. I can't really say I'm digging the color, it's funny how orange is making a resurgence of late; I didn't even realize Honda was doing it. Although it seems to me I saw a burnt orange Fit.

Nice, congratulatoins. You certainly won't sneak up on any body, BaBLinging! Bet that color really looks great in person, can wait to see it once you've given ith the treatment.

Nice car SYMAWD. How do you like it compared to your Kia? I heard Si's are a pretty fun car.

Congrats dude! :dblthumb2:

At first I thought... uhhhhh great pumpkin Charlie Brown, but I'm actually digging it. Fits the whole Si 'look', especially the spoiler. Kewl, very kewl indeed. :props:

Are you saying that you will no matter what.... do the entire thing by hand?
Or that you may or may not do it by hand?

I'd seriously not do that by hand. Not if you intend to do cQuartz!
Correct that puppy as well as it can be done then coat it.

Love the car and LOVE the color, CONGRATS! Glad mfg's are finally figuring out there's more to color than black, silver, gray and white!!

Thanks. It's a love it or hate it color, but I love it.
Congrats!
Thank You.
Congrats. I like the color and the wheels.
Thank You.

It looks great, but you can definitely see me coming. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing.

The KIA was never mine, I just drove it a lot. I like the KIA a lot, and I even considered getting one over the Si, but I got the Si for pretty damn cheap. It's not the fastest or best handling car in its class, but the Si is probably the most fun and I'm glad I finally have a manual to drive.
Congrats! Very nice! Like the color and dig the car!
Thanks.

The car is probably close to 90% now, I don't think doing it by hand will be much trouble at all. It's also going to be a daily driver, so I can't expect it to remain perfect forever. If I have to coat over just a few minor things, it won't be a big deal compared to the protection it will give the car.

Thanks. My choice was either orange or red. If people don't buy the "odd" colors, they'll soon not be offered.

It drives well, but it's a little rough, then again it's meant to be sporty. It's a lot of fun and has some pretty nice features for the money.

first off, congrats on the new car :) second, please tell me they didn't drill holes in the front bumper for the license plate and mounted a bracket under it...

Congrats. Love the color! Looks great with those wheels too.

Saw thread title and the author of said thread: when opening this thread I was expecting to see a Subaru!

Nice looking car man, hope you enjoy it and I definitely know you will take care of it.

Congratulations on the great looking set of new wheels!!

Taking proper care of a new vehicle is very important to keep it looking good for years to come and preserving that investment....:props:

How To Detail Your Brand New Car by Mike Phillips
Thank you. It's leased, but I'll still be keeping it as perfect as I can without going crazy.

Thank you and yes and no to your question. It's screwed in, but it's screwed in under the bumper so if I took it off, nobody would ever know it was mounted unless they got under the car. However, I am required to have a front plate and there's really no alternate location on the car.
Congrats and good luck with your new ride, love the color
Thank you.
Congrats on the new car

Also, here is a sun picture. As you can see, it's in pretty good shape, so as I said, I'm not too concerned about taking care of a few things by hand.

A word to the wise--make sure it can't cantilever up and down--I found out later that bracket was pretty springy and was moving around while driving and scraping the paint off the bumper--I wound up putting a piece of foam tape there.
