Since iVan is the flagship for the Autogeek Roadshow there's no way we could show up at the car show with all the road grime after the trip from Stuart, Florida. So we located a do-it-yourself car wash and gave iVan a bath...

We brought our own wash mitts and used the "Careful Approach" for washing a car with a nice finish as explained in my how-to book.

Trey manned the spray wand for soaping down and rinsing off while Jason, Andre and I did the washing...

This photo is great I saw the Blackfire wrap on the hood with Mike's hand and with Andre drying too it's a wild photo!
 
I plan on meeting up with Mike and the others at Swope's Cars at 7pm tonight.

Hopefully we can get a group together for dinner.

I got stuck in 3 rush hours and a ton of road work. I'll be there around 8:15 according to the GPS if it's possible to wait for dinner till then. I'm getting hungry.
 
unfortunate the weather looks bad for Tomorrow. Of course. Even if not raining, you wont get much attention without being able to show the swirls being removed. Guess thats life.

While at this event everyone walked around inspecting the paint on the cars and looking for a good candidate car. Here's some cars we found that need a little help and the owners agreed to let us use them for the TV show....


1967 Impala
The first candidate car we found was this 1967 Impala... red can be harder to fully capture the swirls versus black and other dark colors but it does have a lot of swirls and the owner is willing. It's also an exceptionally well built car in all other facets.

1972 Chevelle
This is another really nice car with the stripes painted under the clearcoat. The paint has a lot of swirls and scratches and the owner is willing to let us use it.

Out of the three above cars we've asked the owner of the Chevelle to bring his car down around 9:00am so we'll see if he shows... if not we go to plan B...

That Poor guy,

Mike & the group will have the owner of that 72 obsessing about scratches and swirls for years to come! Not to mention, he'll probably wear out his credit card shopping at Autogeek in the future.

Can you imagine sitting around at the car show and some guy walks up and offers to completely restore your car for free? Lucky guy right there. Not sure if feel better for him or worse for the guy next to him that didn't get chosen.
