First machine polish this weekend, few question!

Hey guys.. I'm back! :)

Went over my car with the HD Polish and finished with BFCS, loving the look. I finished it last night, parked it in the driveway. Woke up this morning, walked outside and saw what was literally the biggest bird #### I have ever seen on any one of my cars, right on the hood!

It was so big I couldn't even get mad, just had to laugh.

I used my ONR clay lube dilution and some Mother's Showtime Quick Detailer to remove it. Is a quick detailer the way to go when removing bird #### off a car that's been sealed with BFCS?

Yea, all you can do is laugh at that one.

QD is a good way to remove bird ####. Did it mart the paint?

Not that I can tell, I'll go take another look though. I didn't use much downward pressure when removing it, just sprayed enough lube on there and lightly ran a waffle weave over the #### until it came off, and then buffed lightly with a very soft edgless microfiber.

Edit: Looks like there's no marring. Just gotta figure out how to get this dried polish off my exterior trim and cracks, the Carpro eraser isn't doing the trick. Maybe I'll try peanut butter.

I thought you were going to tape off the trim?

Is this old polish from a previous detail

It's the trim right by the side mirrors. I didn't think to tape off the entire piece, so there's a bit of splatter on them. Definitely a learning experience there.

APC and a toothbrush should work, since it's fresh

I plan on trying Mothers Back to Black Trim Cleaner. It is getting good reviews by fellow Forum Members. Its avail OTC, in case the APC does nit work

Trim is kind if a Catch-22...

Polish usually won't stain it, if it has been treated recently

BUT, if you try to treat it right before applying tape, the tape won't stick
