Wow, this discussion has really struck me funny now...along the way in my time on detailing forums, from time to time people have decried the lack of "certification" and standardization, that allows hacks to exist. It seems to me that Optimum is trying to certify and standardize the application of their warrantied coating, and however dismaying that may be to me as a hobbyist as far as the availability of good products, I would think the pros would be happy to be able to differentiate their service.
I realize from other forums that part of this change effectively eliminates part-time detailers from the Optimum network (due to minimum purchase commitments) so I guess I can understand the animosity toward that.
