Will Flex 3401 burn paint?

I also have a 1st gen 7424, and upgraded to GG6. Since then have added a Rupes 15. The one I use most, and would buy if I was you is the GG6. Can use any size pads and backplates, no issues with curvy panels like a mini has, and is cheaper and less abusive than the flex. GG6 is a great enthusiast machine.

With the FLEX you will have much more versatility especially with the Lake Country BP set.
There is a learning curve but it is well worth the effort IME. If you want the versatility, FLEX is the ticket!
 
I have both the Flex and the Rupes 15. they are both good machines you can't go wrong either way.
The Rupes pads are fine but I have used a LC pad for short bursts with no problems
 
Both machines are great and serve their purpose. I have the Flex along with the Rupes 75E. Great combo IMHO. :xyxthumbs:
 
I have the Flex 3401, PC, and GG3 for spot work. Boy do I love my Flex 😃👍. I'm so tempted to try a Rupes 21 just to see what all the fuss is about.
 
The definitive video on how difficult it is to burn paint. This is all done on flat panels. I should of done a few spots on lines, but i think you will see that when you keep the pad flat a strike thru is almost somthing you need to be trying to do with this machine.

rupes is king on flat surfaces. It is smoother and lot less vibration. Will stop rotating if put on edge and/or not on a perfectly flat surface. It does do well on as a cross over da but on gel coat where you need a little more down pressure the rotation of the pad will stop.
