CarPro Immortal - Self-Healing Coating

What are the issues associated with applying 25 microns of any coating to a car?
"Proper prep" of the underlying surface that any Coating is to be applied upon, comes to mind.

Well, if you are charging $1000, you could triple your price and people have no problem paying it.
^^^ :wow ^^^

IMO...This product has the near perfect name.
If I were to ever have it applied to my vehicle:
It would take me forever and forever to pay for it! :)

Very Cool. Didn't Nissan offer something like this years ago?

Don't quote me on this, but iirc... Nissan self healing clear needed heat to heal itself. Immortal can heal itself in any temp.

... patiently awaiting more info!

Since most of you know I left my association with CARPRO ,I do wish them luck. I do however think they are starting to forget the people who got them there! I take care of some of the most wealthiest clients in the country, they will not pay what most finest installers charge, they see no reason to spend that much, even on a La ferrari or p1, of which I take care of several.Carpro does not understand the concept of it is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

This has no validity in this thread as no price is released yet.

In any case, if said wealthy clients don't see the value in paying to protect their vehicle then that sounds like poor salesmanship. Modesta, Ceramic Pro, and many other products demand a premium over coatings like OCP and Finest yet they are still sold all over the place (relatively speaking).

Maybe I've been under a rock, but last a saw you were hard core nothing but CQF? How is it you're unable to sell the coating at MAP, on any car, let alone an exotic???

Wasn't this the discussion from last month, just replace CarPro with OPT?

And I guess there are cheap rich people, and not cheap rich people (relatively speaking), just like there are cheap middle class people and not cheap middle class people, some who care about their car and others for whom it is just an appliance or a status symbol.

I'm beginning to see there's more than one flavor of Kool-Aid. Fortunately I stopped drinking that stuff when I was a kid.

Not really, there have been no changes that I'm aware of....I'm pretty confused tbh.

No doubt about that, which is why I don't put all my eggs in one basket.

I am thinking about body seams, gaps between side marker lights and paint, nooks and crannies that would be filled or bridged by 25 microns of product. Especially when some of those panels flex and the adjacent area does not flex

Factory Clear Coat is applied before all of these it's are installed, so it's not an issue there

Does this stuff increase in volume as it cures? Because I was pretty sure the FAQ said Immortal is 15 microns thick.

I asked this question on FB, as I would also think at 15 microns you would need to mask things off, which if it's anything like paint or CC, a tape line will be left, which is no good. Have to wait and see how that's handled

I will refer the question of why we no longer offer finest to the owner of carpro U.S. for sales man ship, we did approx. 10k worth of finest this year.

That was just product purchased, not sales total ,every kit purchased was installed

"We" are all speculating at this point as to what it will do to the normal detailer. Nissan did self healing and so did Lexus I think a while back, and they both didn't work. That being said. This could easily be marketed as a dealership option, especially if they have the booth which some have body shops, but most have the money to install one. They also could probably get this at far cheaper a price point than individuals and still make large amounts of money on it. If you think about how many people buy into the coatings now, I see it also being offered at sale time to new car buyers.
Same thing applies to CQuartz as did Opti Coat. The companies are in the business of making money. Period!

HUMP

I'm amazed how much profit you guys make on these coatings. Wow.

Sorry...to be clear, That is for full correction, coating, and all other aspects of a proper exterior detail. Not just coating application. Profit margin isn't really any greater than what I charge for a correction with wax application.

With that said, I'm still amazed how some will pay $1-2K to have their car detailed. More power to you, of course. :dblthumb2:
