Interest in Chicagoland meet

I'm really anxious to see the pics of the new ride but when "practical" starting coming into the fray, well, I'm thinking a couple different rides:

-Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk ???
-Impala LTZ ???
-Fuzion titanium ???
-Mazda 6 grand touring ???

Maybe this has been asked before. So I apologize if it has. How realistic is it for Autogeek, Autopia, Adams.... Etc. to hold clinics in major cities like Mike Phillips has his classes in Florida. Send a trailer, and an expert from each company, plus a local expert or 2. I would rather pay to go to an Autogeek hosted event, and learn more/ get my hands on different products I would be willing to buy.

We kinda did something like last year as well as 2012. Paul (2Old2Change) is our regional expert and he's come out twice. He's honestly one of the nicest guys out there and has his own shop as well. He has gone above and beyond to help out in the events and drives up from Indy too!

IIRC someone has mentioned that we could have a detail day at their house, forgot who mention this so forgive me but if that happens, it would be something to come on out for sure. This event that's happening now is more laid back but there are things to learn here and basically get a chance to hang out and discuss whatever we want, no structure at all other than show up and wash your car, learn about rinseless or waterless washes, etc. Its whatever you want it to be.

Hope you come on out Billy, its going to be a good time had by all with a trip to Portillo's on Golf afterwards :dblthumb2:

PS...any questions you have can certainly be handled by the members showing up as some of them have their own business' as well, no worries there.

Very cool 🇺🇸

Not even close!

It is fun to drive! Goes into a corner a lot easier than the G8 but doesn't come out as fast. That's OK by me though when I look down and see 25 mpg on REGULAR gas instead of 16 MPG on premium. I'm liking all the gizmos as well. :xyxthumbs:

Tinted windows coming soon, followed by CAI and a tune.

Mr.Paul, I assume you've got the 2.4L Tigershark. Check out Modern Performance and Dart Madness for that CAI.

Yes Roger it has the 2.4 and thank you for the lead on the CAI.:props:

We went from 2 GMs, 2007 AWD TBSS & 2009 G8 GT to 2013 Grand Caravan & 2015 Dart SXT. Guess I'll get one of those 'MOPAR parking only' signs for the garage!

This morning I went to the store before sunrise then filled the Booboo van. The 9 mile drive back home left the van's mpg read out at 30! Amazing that that thing has nearly 300 HP yet the big grey box gets very good mileage considering what it is.

Last week before getting the Dart I had test drove a Prius. It was not for me. That one speed transmission bugged me in addition to the terrible rear visibility. Drove a Cruze Diesel but found the Cruze interior cramped especially the back seat. Loved me a Buick Regal GS but not for $40,000?!? Drove a Mazda 6, nice car but the dealer wouldn't budge on price and insulted me with trade in offer of $10,000. I told salesman that was an eff you offer and walked out. They also kept trying to steer me to a 2 or 3.

Wednesday night I left the office and went to Tyson Dodge. We bought the van there and loved the no hassle sales experience we had. We were out the door in the new van in under 3 hours. So after the test drive we did the usual horse trading; offer then counter offer. I told him what I wanted for the G8 and not one penny less plus the rock bottom price we had agreed on. He did the "talk to the sales manager" thing then came back and shook my hand. Out the door in under three hours!:xyxthumbs:

Had they not insulted you do you think the MAZDA 3 would've been an option?

I like the Dart for sure, it's a good looking ride and surprised you don't see even more of them, I bet you'll like it even more once you get more seat time👍

No, it was the 6 I really liked.

Well it looks like we've got a bit of variety coming to the get together. Speaking of that, just wanna reiterat what were doing at the event...whatever you want. I mean doing a rinseless or waterless there should be the minimum, tire and wheel cleanings and maybe some spray waxing. I mean if someone wants to show off an LSP you could do that as well, whatever you wanna do.

I've added some more samples to give away, I'll make a complete, updated list soon. Something to keep in mind with the giveaways. If you take something make sure it's something your going to actually use or have interest in out of respect for the next guy.

I know 2 of the samples I added were 2 oz of DP paint prep and 2 oz of DP Poli-coat, about enough to do one car in most cases, so it would be perfect if you were doing a detail and wanted to try something new per say.

We've got about 2 monthes to go, seems like a long time😋

IIRC we had what, 9 people showing up to our little get together, any other noobs?

Also is the offer still on the table to have another one in the fall at someone's new house? I can't remember who offered this to us, so please forgive me. If we actually do this, I should tell you our group is very respectful. we've never had any clowns show up to one so far.
