Do your neighbors think you're crazy?

They already know I'm as crazy as a s**t house mouse. So anything I do just reinforces that thinking...LOL!

I once heard my next door neighbor tell her friends that
I was a fool who often sits alone talking to the moon.

My next door neighbor is my sister. Yes...she thinks I'm crazy...and not only for how I take care of my cars.

I live at the corner of two busy routes and I get the strangest looks when I use my foam cannon but the looks get every more noticeable when I break out the leaf blower to dry. Yea they think I'm crazy.

And the old saying is appropriate...

If they DON'T think you're crazy you're not doing it right!

I've been told this as well lol lol

Me too. It stopped being clever and funny a LONG time ago. My neighbor is elderly, and he just lost his wife. I hate to say it,but I try to look and see if he is outside before I do anything. I always get the above comment. If I'm not washing the car I always get asked "Are you not working today?" no matter what day it is. Makes me mad as all get out. I am sorry his wife died and I feel a little guilty for feeling that way,but my goodness.

All the other old retired guys in the neighborhood wait until the weekend to mow. Usually right after or at the same time I wash my cars.

Other neighbors always say something about it also. I know they think I'm crazy when I have to open the garage door to get enough light to finish detailing a car!

I'm sure my neighbors do because down in the underground parking garage I'm always down there doing something. During the winter I'm sure they REALLY thought I was nutz! Now I keep my 2 buckets, wheel bucket and milk crate with extra mf towels in it, I even keep a nice container down there for my various brushes too.

I'm sure my neighbors think it's insane that I choose to wash the car at 8am before the sun is beating down and mow the lawn at noon when it's sweltering. The girl across the street has a brand new black Civic Si. One day when I was getting the mail she was out washing her car in the middle of the sun on a 90 degree day. After a bit of small talk, I just threw out a friendly bit of advice to avoid washing her car under those conditions. I explained to her why and it seemed like she understood what I was saying. 2 weeks later she was out there washing her car in the middle of a 90 degree day again. Of course, most of my neighbors park their cars in the driveway because their garages are full of, most likely, useless junk. Never ceases to amaze me when it starts hailing like crazy on their cars sitting outside as they stand there on their porches with the "My poor car" look on their faces.

Lol if you have so much crap that you can't fit your car in your garage, which btw is made for a car, than you have a problem.
Start throwing stuff out people!

AGREE. IT'S just about impossible to wash in the heat of the sun!! Thats why i do it at 6am. Same with cutting grass. I do it 8am BEFORE the sun & heat. Cut grass last saturday starting at 11:30 am. It was hot/sunny. I was beat by the time i was done. Then i remembered why i cut early! Kind of lucky tho. Just 2 close neighbors that dont mind.

I'm not even into detailing yet and have been given weird looks for saying I'm considering getting a leaf blower for my car. Your guys' neighbours must think your absolutely insane!

I wish I could, but it's HER stuff :(

Just wait until you start using a leaf blower on your car. That's when you get the, "This guy must be an idiot" looks.

My neighbors are seriously worried about me at this point. I live in an apartment (trashed car wonderland) and I'm always out doing a rinseless on my truck.

I'm just so addicted to the freshly washed look of Infinite Use Detail Juice.

big time!, already told me im wasting my time getting swirls out. they wont come out, proved him wrong already! now wants his BLACK truck done :x

I got sick of all the weird looks ages ago, so I now do everything in the garage, with the door closed or only slightly open if needed.

I KNOW! It's a pet hate of mine. The family across the road had a four car garage, yet all 4 of their cars were parked on the street 24/7.

So once the weather gets warm, on weekend mornings I'm typically at least washing two of my family's three cars, and most likely doing something detailing related to one of them. This past Sunday I did a two step paint correction on my 2013 Mini Cooper S. I only have a small garage in my townhome, so it's much easier to work outside. I definitely get weird looks from my neighbor when I bust out the pressure washer and foam cannon, but this weekend they started making comments when they saw my EZ Up tent for shade and green tape covering all the trim on my car. I was asked no less than three times if I was painting my car!

At least some of them have gotten curious about how good their cars could look. My next door neighbor has a 2013 Volvo C70 convertible that she washes with a sponge mop!!

How many of you have neighbors that think you're crazy also?

Just know that you're spreading the DIY Auto Industry. Neighbors in my building wonder why I have large duffle bags and buckets in the backseat of my Honda Accord but haven't figured why it tends to look better than the rest in the parking lot.
