I coated my HRE's with Pinnacle Black Label wheel coating. It is VERY easy to use. Washed, clayed, prepped with cleansing lotion, and then used the supplied applicator and microfiber and got to work. Goes on very easily, even with some practice and the high spots wipe off effortlessly when you get to them in time. I did the recommended first coat and then waited 24 hours and applied a second coat the next day.

The coating did darken the finish a little, nothing negative here, just what it did. It did not adversely effect the color of the wheels or the metallic in them, just darkened them a touch.

I then cleaned my calipers and wheel wells with some 303 APC. I then applied the wheel coating (I figured this would hold up to the heat better than the paint coating) to the calipers and the fender wells. They came out/look great! Calipers are a nice rich red, very slick now and I hope it holds up and will help with the clean up of this crazy German brake dust!

Finally had time to install my HRE's. Have had them for a few months now!

They are: HRE Flowforms. FF01's IPA Bronze color Front 20x8.5 w/ ET50 and rear 20x11 ET60.

Fit perfectly. Look outstanding in my opinion!

While I was at it, I decided to clean up the calipers and fender wells and apply a ceramic coating to them to give them some protection, but mainly to assist in cleaning them. The caliper color deepened a little after the coating application. Looks good. Nice and slick and they should shed/repel the dust much easier now.

I also coated the wheels with a ceramic wheel coating to assist in the ease of cleaning.

Onto the pictures!

That car is just gorgeous. Love the new wheels. :xyxthumbs:

Thanks all!!!!

Buddy: I'm sizzling baby!!!!! LOL

Forgot to mention: CarPro PERL 100% on tires...

That 295 fills the rear end out Real Nice! Lookin good.

Looks great! Keep this thread updated for durability with the PBL wheel sealant.

Edit. Wheel coating. Multi-tasking fail. Watching Indycar while typing.

i noticed this on a carrera that i detailed as well as yours. why do the front tires have rim protectors but the rears don't?

Thanks everyone!!! Appreciate it!

Thanks fly: I can fit 305's and wish I did...when these are done, that's what will be going on there!

^^^You know it!

I don't know. Maybe most people curb the fronts more than the rears? It is strange...

Nice review and great looking wheels. Good color choice. I too just recently used PBL wheel coating on my new wheels. It's been on about a month and I've been very satisfied with it.

I found it easy to use just as you did.

They are different tires. I know they're both Pirelli P-Zero's but they are different series from each other. You can tell by the slightly different sidewall designs, (lettering, word placement, rib designs, etc). My guess is that, since those cars typically go through the rear tires about twice as quickly as the fronts, the rears are the newer P-Zero Black series and the fronts are the older P-Zero's.

Car looks great btw!

Thanks! Tires are the ones that came on the car new from the factory. All 991's I have seen have the same PZero's on them-fronts with rim protectors, rears without.

Thanks again everyone!

I never heard about HRE but first thing that comes to mind is: What happened to original Porsche wheels ???
Are HRE quality is higher than Porsche ( I doubt it is) & why they use Swiss flag (I also use Swiss flag on some of my business cards but then I use Swiss Made detailing products) as a logo if wheels are Made in USA (I see some models are made in Germany & Japan).
I think HRE wheels would have much more recognition if instead of using Swiss flag as their logo, they would use a California map as a logo.

Probably it's just cool to have a tuning look on the car with wheels only, while for me Porsche tuning means something else: Hamann Motorsport, TechArt, CarTech Knowledge München, Gemballa, RUF Automobile, Motoren Technik Mayer to name a few.

P.S. Always a pleasure to see your work which is each time superb.
Have a Nice Day, I hope I didn't create any tension.

Looks fantastic. Nothing like a nice pair of HRE's. I have them on my 300ZX and absolutely love them. They change the look of the car completely.

The wheel is stunning without a doubt, a Hall of Fame wheel for sure but just curious as to why you went with bronze on a gray car?
