Thanks the Zl1 is a great drivers car, and I take it out as often as I can. I have some mods in the future to include a low lash solid roller cam, 10% over on the supercharger, ID850 injectors, and ported SC snout. This is usually good for about 650+at the wheels if you have good fuel. I bought it for a weekend coast run car, and track days. Last run was out to Ft Bragg, about 10 hours behind the wheel including Hwy 1, and 20. This thing just eats up the road.

I wonder how the ZL1 compares to the Z28?

The Z/28 is much more track focused car with most of the sound deadning removed, carbon brakes, Etc. Some have both and hands down for all around use to include drag racing and road course the ZL is the way to go. One guy I know sold his modded ZL, bought a Z/28, missed his ZL so he sold that and back into a ZL1. The Z/28 is an awesome car for its intent, but for normal street use the mag ride on the ZL is much more forgiving with modes to change the fluid viscosity. Street to track at the push of a button. Either car you have to be a really good driver to use their potential. The limits are pretty far up there. If I were to choose one for track use only it would be the Z/28.

Street to track at push of a button, now that's cool!

It is progressive in stages depending on how well you know the track. The things it adjusts is traction control, stability control, engine torque management, steering feel, and suspension stiffness. I usually dont like gagets but they did a great job with it. Plus launch control with no lift shift for the drag guys. Power train is super strong and good for over 1000 rwhp until the clutch becomes the weak link.

I drive slow nowadays - the temptation would be overwhelming to open it up on the street but that's why we have track days...it's crazy how much hp Chevy, Dodge and Ford are putting out...

Here's a tip... use the coating very sparingly. A little goes a long ways. Have plenty of clean, dry microfiber towels to wipe off the high spots.

Thanks Mike. I have learned many things from your site and videos.
Are the microfibers reusable is soaked and then washed?
