Micro fiber collection- Getting there

Well... Here's something super relaxing about detailing, at least for me. It's my zen thing. I'm trying to pick up some side jobs for coworkers and stuff, just cause it'd be nice to make an extra couple bucks doing something I really enjoy and will find an excuse to do to my own car anyway.

As far as the chase for more products... Maybe it's just being human. Women always want more shoes and clothes. Guess this is just our version.

I agree 100%, detailing is just relaxing almost to the point it's therapeutic. I get lost in the moment with the car and just focus on the task at hand. Normally as an IT Project Manager my mind is racing with 1,000s of tasks and things to remember and follow up on, no so with detailing!

I'm always itching to buy more detailing products/tool and had to hold myself back from buying a Rupe's/GG-Boss over this past 4th of July sale. I just couldn't justify the purchase as my car is perfectly polished with no visible scratches, also after my OP (orange peel) removal project I know there's not that enough clear left to invest in a top of the line DA. None the less I did place another order for more Microfibers :)

I'm really happy with TRC's towels and their freebies! I also own some Zaino Borderless Blonds that I covet and only use for polish wipe downs (if find they work slightly better than TRC, Eagle Edgeless). Other towels are just too costly to justify IMHO (the ones I own work perfectly and never scratch the paint).

Personally I use plastic zipper bag's (large size) and store 3-8 towels folded in 4ths in the bags. That way when I need some towels they are already folded and ready to use and safely stored for transport.

I've started mixing the towels I put in the bags so that I can just grab any two bags and complete my maintenance wash. I also have been putting all my other tools in bags to keep them as clean and dust free as possible.

You can't call yourself a detailer without admitting you at least have mild ocd

Mild OCD.. but for some reason I let the interior of my cars get dusty and carpet filled with dirt and debris yet I seem to not care as much. As long as the outside looks good haha. As for customers car's I'm super OCD. Maybe it's cuz I dont get paid to do my own!

Naw I don't think I have OCD I've just always paid attention to the details (started with Lego's) but not to the point of causing myself anxiety or distress over them (with the exception being my extreme prejudice towards Orange Peel on a car's finish, but that's more of a personal preference). I like to keep in mind that there's a thing called Entropy and try as much as I want I can't fight it (I think that's what real OCD is; perpetually trying fighting Entropy and the constant worry/anxiety caused from it).

Not me. I spend more time inside my car than outside, so my interior has to be clean constantly too.

A craftman resin cabinet set, I wonder how many microfibers I could fit in this setup! :D I should order all 3 pieces and fill it to the brim with MFM towels.

Now I wonder which bank would loan me the $$$$ to make that possible :D

True. I dont really let my dash and all that get dirty, just the carpet. Occasional dust since I always roll with the windows down though. BUT, always have at least 2 microfibers handy for the inside to keep it mostly spotless. I don't keep the inside super clean (although, if you looked at the inside, you'd say it's nearly spotless) but when I do, I spend a good bit of time doing it.

If I were you I would have the towels in either ziplock bags or a small plastic bin with lockable lid. Dirt and dust can still make it's way inside the cabinets

try watching junkman2000 on you tube; i love autogeek, but junkman explains in great detail re: microfiber and waffleweave towels; just bought several from the "rag company" which are made in korea, not china; also, they are less costly than here at autogeek

I was just in Sam's club. They have 30 packs of microfiber for like $15. They feel decent, I'll likely buy a pack soon

There have been a few threads and heated discussions about this, but I think the Sam's Club and Costco MF are great for interior detailing and jambs. I am hesitant to use them on paint, but YMMV.

Those are slick-looking!

Those are slick-looking!

Welp, I bought the tall 1 and I can't say anything good about it, it was packaged uber poorly. The bottom piece had a big a$$ crack and a chunk was missing. I returned it. Craftman.com only has a few reviews on it, but they hate it. I really wanted to get all 3 units but I'm over it. The smaller floor one has like 5 really bad reviews. I wish I could find a decent resin unit like this that's not uber expensive but is good quality. Sadly I'm still pondering re-ordering it and just putting up with the quality lol.

Sucks because as you said they look good. I will say unboxed a lot of the outer had visible scuffs and a quick glancing I saw some nicks. assembled there would have been some marks visible for sure. Very low quality for what I'm assuming is Rubbermaid. Rubbermaid has a similar set and the reviews are equally bad.

That sucks, quebert. Sorry you had to go through that.

Have you looked at Gladiator products? I got some for my garage. Pricey and not as slick-looking, but they are very high quality.

Yeah, Junkman videos got me started detailing LOL. I like that one where he jumps on the hood and scratches it to hell then buffs them all out.
