Well... Here's something super relaxing about detailing, at least for me. It's my zen thing. I'm trying to pick up some side jobs for coworkers and stuff, just cause it'd be nice to make an extra couple bucks doing something I really enjoy and will find an excuse to do to my own car anyway.
As far as the chase for more products... Maybe it's just being human. Women always want more shoes and clothes. Guess this is just our version.
I agree 100%, detailing is just relaxing almost to the point it's therapeutic. I get lost in the moment with the car and just focus on the task at hand. Normally as an IT Project Manager my mind is racing with 1,000s of tasks and things to remember and follow up on, no so with detailing!
I'm always itching to buy more detailing products/tool and had to hold myself back from buying a Rupe's/GG-Boss over this past 4th of July sale. I just couldn't justify the purchase as my car is perfectly polished with no visible scratches, also after my OP (orange peel) removal project I know there's not that enough clear left to invest in a top of the line DA. None the less I did place another order for more Microfibers

I'm really happy with TRC's towels and their freebies! I also own some Zaino Borderless Blonds that I covet and only use for polish wipe downs (if find they work slightly better than TRC, Eagle Edgeless). Other towels are just too costly to justify IMHO (the ones I own work perfectly and never scratch the paint).
