I own a 06 superduty with the plastic trim on the bed rails. I took care of them here and there but nothing like I should. I tired adams super vrt and it would run after it would rain so I called them and they told to use a microfiber and wipe it off so I tried that and it still ran. so I got on here and found dlux. got some of that cleaned the plastic with mothers back to black trim cleaner. then sprayed the bed rails down with eraser and wiped off. then applied dlux for the first several months the rails looked great but now summer is here in s fla the rails look like I haven't applied anything to them. other places I did at the same time look great still but these parts are on the side of the truck and don't face the sky.

what should I do apply another coat of dlux or clean it off and try something else?

was the bed rails to far gone for dlux to keep looking new for more then 5 months?

I've seen bob make comments about using gatorback trim coating...

It's possible that the trim wasn't entirely clean before you applied the Dlux. If other dressing products were used before Dlux cleaning can be more difficult. Try 1Z Einsett deep plastic cleaner or the tuff shine tire cleaner on the plastic to thoroughly clean it before applying the Dlux.

Dlux should give you a great like new finish and protection for at least 1.5 - 2 years.

I kinda thought also.. was thinking about getting Opt power clean and try that and then re-coat...

I am thinking you needed a stronger cleaner before DLux was applied. The plastic needs to be completely clean before application otherwise it doesn't hold up.

Aim gave you the best two cleaners.:props:

are you saying these are the best two plastic/trim cleaners in your opinion period or for the OP situation? This can save me from posting a thread asking? Thanks and sorry for the thread jack :/

Both, IMO OP did not clean well enough and that's the reason why Dlux failed.

i have some more dlux i will go ahead and get some tire shine cleaner wanted to get some of that for the tires any way.. i will try that and re-coat when i get some time.. thanks...
