Hi guys! Haven't posted too much lately as my wife and I have been real busy getting things together to move out of our house. Over the past several years I have been fortunate to live within 20min of Autogeek/Autopia headquarters and have enjoyed all of the events they have. That being said we have sold our house and for now are still going to be in Port Saint lucie Florida just living with her parents. Our initial plans were to build a house in Palm city which is the next town over but my wife got some unsettling news about her job.

Fortunately she has contacts back home in Boston where we both grew up and has had a phone interview already with a company and just found out that they are flying her up for a face to face meeting. If all goes well then we will be leaving sunny Florida and head back home. So it looks like I will be taking a small hiatus from detailing until we get settled.

Now that that's out of the way. About a week after completing my last correction (C7ZO6) the customer called me and wanted to see if I could get his brothers 2011 Jaguar XJL in for some serious work. Thankfully I have a very understanding wife and she was cool enough to let me take in one last job amiss the commotion going on!

Process:

Wheels: Iron-x/acid Coated with Blackfire Crystal Coat

Tires: Cleaned with Tuff shine tire cleaner/Tuff shine brush Dressed with BlackFire total eclipse tire dressing.

Wheel wells: Cleaned and then dressed with Meguiars Ultimate protectant

Paint- Washed with Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo, Decon- Iron-x, nanoskin, DP clay bar, polished using 3401, prototype orange pad, Menzerna PF2500. Tight areas were done using my PE8 and FG400/SF4000. Coated with Blackfire crystal coat

Exterior glass- Hydro2

Interior- all leather/vinyl cleaned with Pinnacle leather/vinyl cleaner. Seats coated with Cquartz leather coating. Carpets spot cleaned and fully vac'd.

Door jambs- cleaned and hand polished with HD Speed
Trunk- cleaned and vac'd
Chrome- Polished with Turtle wax chrome polish

There was a lot of surface area to cover on this car but what a car it is. The color really came alive when it was all said and finished!

Onto the pictures.

Upon arrival

Nice job. It will be sad to see you go. Just keep that GTO out of the SNOW!

Beautiful work on a beautiful car! Best of luck, Jason and i actually envy you. I too am from Mass and am also contemplating a move back up home. I hope it goes well for you and the Mrs.

Amazing work on that cat. You made it look the way it should.

WOW! you nailed it, looks outstanding my friend.

Great job. Nice 50/50 shots! That paint did come alive after you got done with it.

Super luxury car with a paint colour of upper atmosphere, the clouds on it look alive. Interior is grand & is true to Jaguar's English tradition (from 2014 most Jaguar models are built in India, Chicken Tikka Masala style).
Compared to this Jaguar, standard package Mercedes S350 or BMW 7 will look like Trabant.

If you like to continue Car Valeting in a short time you'll have it in New England same like in Orange State.
Population in MA is 3 times smaller than in FL but I doubt it has any connection to detailing, for a Car Wash it's better to be located in high population area but people who know what is the difference between this & that will find you, all what you've achieved in FL will bear fruit in MA.
Good luck.

Thank you for your kind words of wisdom! You are definitely right about people who want more than just a wash finding me. Luckily I have pretty established roots up there. (Lived there for 24yrs) Not looking forward to winters :(

Same here Smokinss. Although finding a few positives about it...i'd like to think people up there come out of the woodwork to have their rides cleaned up in the spring. Plus there are pockets of wealth up there that might yield a premium service market.

I was born and raised in Mass and left to go out of state to school at 20. That will always be home and to be perfectly honest, i hate the brutal heat down here worse than the coldest weather up there. My chosen career field kept me down here for 30 plus years. My mother jokes with me..."who works a life in FL and then retires to Mass?!" Again, i wish you guys the best of luck with whatever you decide.

Really nice job,I love those cars but the quality is not there as opposed to bmw or mb ,I done several of them very noisy of strange sounds ,I like the transmission selector. On some merc and bmw u have to make sure it's in park in other words double check.
