The thing is - the GG6 is just a relabeled product, albeit a good one. They are sold in Europe under various names in various colors. You can buy them from China and call them whatever you want if you are willing to buy enough units. But, my opinion is, if you are buying a Griot's machine you are getting a decent machine.
However, you are doing nothing to support any future innovations in detailing or polishing. Griot's invents nothing. They sell decent products, but they are not innovators.
For me, I'd rather spend my dollars and support companies on the cutting edge who are going to bring new innovations to the market or something unique to the table.

You are sadly mistaken my friend. I sell packaging systems for a living. I've been in more manufacturing plants and distribution facilities in the past 25 years than you will ever be able to fathom. My daily life is like a show in the US here called " How it's Made "

Since we D1ck measuring...I've been an IT Corporate for the last 16 years. And employed by a Fortune 500 company for 5 of those years. I don't do $200 000 deals often, try $20 000 000 upward deals in Africa ;-)

Lol never said I have that kinda money, but closed huge deals n made decent cash. Have taken a sabbatical from the Corporate world, have been travelling abroad alot the last few months and am detailing full time as of recent as I find it calming and therapeutic. As for the Golfs, I own a few along with other cars not in my signature. Have been a Golf fan since I was a kid and the passion for them hasn't left. I own a 1000hp drag Golf that I play around with too and a 68 Chevy El Camino that I'm currently restoring. Hope this answers your question.

Why do some put the label made in China as inferior? Should you see inferior products, perhaps it's the design & care less attitude about the ingredients used, by the designer. China is/was a low cost labor market, it's the designer, obligation to accept/reject, products that bear there name plates. More confident mfg(s) using low cost labor, generally CAN have a better warranty.

I use my Flex PE8 or my PC with a 3" backing plate and pads. You can use the bigger machine. It's a little awkward, and your going to have places you have to do by hand. It's a lot easier and you'll have less hand polishing with the smaller machine.

I try to buy made in the USA as a practice. It's part of my personal business. But reality dictates it's not always feasible. You're point is well stated. And if we made a personal decision to stop buying anything made in China tomorrow in our personal lives we'd be w/o a lot of modern conveniences. I bought my wife a gift the other day online, it delivered, she opened and I noticed made in Cambodia.
