Today I decided to finally fix some curb rash on one of my rims. It came out pretty decent. Not perfect but anything is better than what it did look like. This can hold me over till I upgrade my rims :)

Leveled all the high areas, filled, sanded and primed.

Thanks guys. I used glazing and spot putty. It took a couple layers to level everything out.

Much appreciated. There are some spots the paint didn't lay down even so I'm gonna wet sand it this afternoon and then lay down a couple coats of clear and then wet sand again.
 
Just perfect. Today I got first curb rush on a new car, 18" rims so exposed to uneven curbs. It is just 3 small scratches, but eating my brain.
Don't you mind to tell me what material did you use? I presume all OEM wheel are the same color?

I don't mind sharing one bit.

I started by filing down all the high areas. When it curbed it was pushed outward so I knew I needed the surface to be flush.

I then filled in the gouged areas with spot/glazing putty. I let that dry per manufacture specs and then kept sanding with 320 and applying thin layers until it was level with the surrounded areas.

Next up was a couple coats of filler primer and then wet sanded with 1000.

Then I applied a light dusting of the base using VHT wheel paint. Let that dry in the hit Florida sun and then applied two/three medium coats. Then I applied VHT gloss clear.
 
My rash is not horrible but "horrible" to me :). Is there any tip how to mach color on Mazda 3-6 2014-2016 OEM rim? There was no way to avoid this, only light wheel turn :bash:

The paint I used wasn't an exact match but the 600 grits sanding was just on the curbed area. I sanded with 1500 around it that the clear filled in. If blended and a small repair area such as yours I doubt you would be able to notice.
 
You did great.

Just and FYI - car dealers will pay 100-200 per wheel for repairs like tgis.

I feel your pain! I clipped a curb with my CLK about a week after taking delivery. It is all that I see when I gaze upon my baby! My problem is, I think that the color of my MB wheels is not stock. It is kind of light gunmetal grey color. I suppose there are color charts or sample chips online? They sure don't look like stock 2009 MB wheels. The image is not of the booboo rash, I can't bring myself to take an image of my stupidity. Any ideas?:confused:
