The Next REVOLUTION: The BigFoot Nano w/ iBrid Technology

Hmmm. . . Looking for something to replace my HF polisher that has a 3in BP. Maybe this or a mini.

I don't need this, but damn it I don't end up buying one. Perhaps sometime shortly after it comes out AGO will have a magical 20% no exclusions sale.

I can dream...

Yeah,we all can dream the non exclusion sales didnt exclude Rupes brand lol
I would of bad a Rupes Mini this past summer
Ih well..ill prob by the mini and nano time this comming summer gets here

Looks nice, but I'll say, let's not all fall over ourselves folks, and "hope" that the price is $599, because if it is, I won't be buying one in this lifetime.

I'm not particularly the type, who buys into such marketing of "Let's fly it up a flagpole and see who salutes" sort of pricing on a product if I feel it is not fairly priced for what it is, all marketing hype, and estatic glowing reviews aside.

Maybe I'll wait another 6 months for the "Chinese Copycat" to come out! LOL

I believe that will be the price for the kit. My local detail supply shop said 399-599. I can't imagine the tool alone would be over $399 though. Either way, I see it as having a lot of uses so it may be worth it. Everything from detailing small areas to brushing your teeth. Can't beat that. Hell, if even looks like something a woman could enjoy as well. :dblthumb2:

Prices are already out. Items available for pre-order...

$589.99 for Long Neck Kit
$569.99 for Short Neck Kit

For now, there is no "tool only" option. You must buy a kit.

It is a lot of money but if you do Lamborghini's Ferraris and high end paint correction and charge 3-5k a job you simply need this machine and will make you back your money in the first job.

When you have tools like this you can explain to your customer you have special tools that can polish hard to reach areas that the average Joe or even elite detailer don't have.

And they will understand that you have the best tools and why you are charging them what you are charging them.

This machine or kit isn't for a weekend warrior a hobbyist heck even a regular pro. (Depending on how much he charges for paint correction)

This is for the perfectionist who can and will charge more to perfect every single panel he can.

Wish I had it Saturday. We did our Black Ferrari 458. So many curves I was scared to death.

Out of curiosity would a 1 inch pad in rotary mode burn paint faster or slower than say a flex with a 5 inch? I'm assuming it would take longer due to the rotational speed at the outer edge of a larger pad being faster than the outer edge of a 1" pad but not sure if my thinking is correct. Also assuming both tools set at the same RPM.

Thank you

If both tools are rotating at the same revolutions, the larger pad has a much greater chance of damaging the surface (for the reason you listed).

The Nano uses a 1.2 inch pad rotating at up to 5000 RPM. This sounds scary at first, but it is really the same speed (more or less) as a 6 inch pad rotating at 1000 RPM. It offers ample cutting power but remains fairly friendly to the paint (unless you hold it still and allow the temperature in the paint to climb).

Good to know
I was planning on never using the rotary mode, but will give it a whirl after this comment

Zach, you are a very cerebral guy and always seem to come up with great ideas. If you are planning on getting one can you share your reasoning for which version you are getting? I am undecided but I just don't see a scenario that the long neck would reach that the short neck would not. I do imagine issues (like around wings and spoilers) that the shorter version could be an advantage. Any thoughts about it would be appreciated.

Wow, that's the full kit price? Very tempting. My 2016 purchases were expected to be a new extractor and new long throw. Already have flex kompact and 21mm; now I need to rethink the priorities.

Still probably best to get the extractor and 15mm, but now there is a wrench in my plans. I really don't like when things don't go according to plan.

I'm right there with ya...I was in process of deciding between the Rupes 21 and 15 Mark II's when I came across this thread. The utility of the nano is almost mind blowing.

Soooo.

when is AG going to open up pre-orders/orders for this little gem?

I been waiting for the Pre-Order from AG but nothing is happening.... Other companies are already taking orders.... Questioning my loyalty I am....
