A client and good friend of ours bought himself a birthday present this year. a 2001 Acura NSX with 11,xxx original miles on it. Upon initial inspection of the vehicle, I smelled E-85, and found a 2.9L Whipple Supercharger sitting atop what looked to be a re-worked 3.2L engine. Needless to say, the project was a ton of fun from start to finish. The new year has brought us an overwhelming amount of business so I was unable to spend as much time documenting this job as I would have liked, but, still managed to get some photos of some of the finer details. No paint correction images were taken, I figure you guys have seen enough polishers on paint at this point anyway.

- 2-step paint correction (Rupes 21, Megs MF cutting pad, 205...Rupes 15, Orange foam pad and CarPro Essence)

- Xpel Ultimate film installed on entire front (bumper, headlights, turn signals, side markers, full hood and full fenders)

- CQuartz Finest applied to all paintwork and film with a UV cure in between

- Various ugly pieces around the car powder coated in house by myself to clean up the engine bay and bonnet areas.

- Massive refresh on the crusty interior.

On to the pictures!

The paint, while not destroyed but not beautiful, had thickness that indicated it had been un-molested. The our, and the owners surprise, our first few passes revealed an awesome fine metallic/pearl flake that was near invisible underneath the moderately oxidized and swirled paint.

Various pieces were unbolted from the car, sandblasted, and powder coated a soft satin black color. This did WONDERS to clean up the engine bay and other areas. Luckily, the owner gave us these freedoms to make calls like this. Working for clients and even friends who trust in your judgement is rewarding to say the least, but also allows you to go above and beyond in situations like this, and make a massive positive effect on the overall job.

Xpel Ultimate goes on, over freshly corrected paintwork

FINEST goes on on top of Essence primes paintwork

Some shots of the interior and odds and ends (will update this soon)

And some final shots to hang on the wall!

This was our first NSX, and it was much more enjoyable to work on that I had anticipated. True to form, we ended up booking 2 more for later in February. Cars always seem to come in packs around here. Weird...

Out of all those awesome pictures and work, I am most impressed with a small detail like the powder coated hood latch. It looks better than the OEM silver galvanized. Good contrast with the yellow paint. The rest of the pics look awesome too, nice work.

I like your booth. Looks like a detailing shop from the future😎

Nice work and attention to detail! Always enjoy your photography on IG.

Your documentation/photography skills are top notch. What an awesome color on that NSX.

Wow, I love your lighting setup. :props:

I bet it's awesome for wrenching, too. I could imagine not having to fumble around; looking for that little nut or socket that just dropped and rolled off somewhere. No escape.

Looks great. Love the first-gen NSX. As soon as I find one that isn't molested (which is relatively hard to find), I'm picking it up.
