The GOOD news is that anyone looking to purchase a FLEX XC3401 will receive a FREE HD upgrade ($50 value) along with a FREE FLEX Changeable Backing Plate System ($40 value). This offer is exclusively for forum members, and you must either call the order in or put a link to this thread in the comments box. Offer ends April 8th. Oh, and the machine ships for FREE in the contiguous 48 states as well. :)

HD upgrade consists of a 25 foot power cord, and the FLEX Changeable Backing Plate System makes it possible to use 4" flat pads and 5" hybrid pads on the 3401.

The not so good news...the much anticipated FLEX XCE (upgraded version of the XC3401) will not be available until December.

FLEX has also confirmed that the XCE is not a replacement for the XC3401. It's simply a new machine that will slot above the XC3401.

Yikes, that means it will be more expensive than the 3401. Ah, the good old days when a 3401 went for $275, and I remember when we all thought that was a lot (coming from the PC world, of course). Oh well.

Where can we find data that explains the features about the new XCE model? How is it different from the XC3401 and the XFE7-15?

I feel like this is some April fools joke! Please say it is! I want that XCE!

It was supposed to already be out or very close to. December? That's pathetic, to be very honest.

After speaking to the Flex reps at detail fest, the Germans do not do anything quickly. They also wont rush something to release it, basically, if its not absolutely ready, they dont release it until it is. This is also why it took so long for Flex to join the free floating large orbit polisher segment. The XFE 15 was in development for years.

XCE weights slightly less, has improved ergonomics and is a little quieter.

Don't you think that's a little harsh Mark?

How often do you see quality issues arise with FLEX polishers? Being the world's largest distributor for FLEX polishers, for every 1000 FLEX polishers we sell, we *might* get one back, and that's being generous.

Good things take time. :props:

Nice sale for anyone looking to get their hands on the 3401. If you do, make sure to pick up the Hybrid pads. This setup is the bee's knee's.

All of the above is absolutely correct.

Thanks for sharing Jaret.

Not really.

I do agree FLEX puts out very high quality tools. However, would you have put it up on the site for pre-order if you knew it would be delayed 9 MONTHS?? I repeat, delayed *9* months. Especially, for a product that's nearly the same as the current. Very strange to me.

Yeah, except it's not "up on the site for pre-order". I've said this before, this is part of the problem with the SEMA show, it's an industry show, not a consumer show, and was originally to allow buyers to see products for the following year. But because of the internet and social media, civilians get to see everything that goes on at SEMA, and expect this stuff to be available RIGHT NOW.

I don't believe Flex made any promises about when either of the new machines was going to be available, so you could look at the glass half full and be happy the long stroke machine is already in-stock at Autogeek.

Ordered up a new 3401 HD last night along with more hybrid pads!!! This is a killer deal to me. Also went for the 128 oz size of HD Speed. Getting ready for the summer season.
