Best "AIO" (1 Step) Polish

I have to suggest that UC is indeed quite potent. In my photo album there is a write up and pics of where I removed 1000 grit with a PC, and a green 60ppi pad.

I also experienced strike through with that combo the very first time I used a d/a, which was unfortunate. All those years being careful with the rotary, never burning anything, then that happened.

Probably going to buy some Optimum Spray Polish to test against the HD Speed, and McKee's 37 360. Does anyone know if the HD Speed contains some HD Poxy in the forums already?

Disagree. I've taken out horrible scratches and marring with Meg's UC. I put it at an 8. It responds based on the pad and the amount of pressure used. I've also used M101 Foam Compound which is a bit more aggressive at a 10. Here too, pad and pressure matter. Working time on Ultimate Compound is better/easier to work with. M101 just allows me to save some time as I don't/can't easily work it as long. I trade that ease of cutting and time savings with dusting though.

BEFORE Ultimate Compound:

AFTER Ultimate Compound but before polishing: This wasn't even the worst of it.

PolishedBliss also has Megs UC pegged at a 6.

Mileage will vary. I think a lot of the "ratings" and reviews including my own will be based on the paint worked on, the machine used and of course the pads used. The photos I show were with a mere PC 7424XP and yellow and orange pads. IIRC the above was orange. I used yellow on the hood and rear quarters which were in worse condition.

Megs rates their own stuff and puts it at 8/10. Autotopia Charts do the same. My rating is based on other products I've used along side it. I've not used Menzerna's high cut products which is where some of this discussion took a turn at.

•Not wanting this discussion to take another turn...
-I'll reiterate that: Meguiar's uses/has a:
"12 Aggressiveness Rating Chart" (12-ARC) that's
currently applicable to their Mirror Glaze line-up.

So•
-Taking a Meguiar's Consumer product, such
as UC, and trying to cross-reference it to the
"12-ARC" would mean that:
-Instead of 8/10, it would be more in line with a
9.6/12 rating—pretty close to the 10/12 that I
posted earlier, IMO.

I've heard great things about 3D HD Adapt. I used Megs Ult Polish last year and found it difficult to remove. I'm going to order the Adapt and try it out....once the snow finally stops lol.

I've used speed on the exact same car/color. The Sonata was in horrible shape when we bought it and Speed with the LC orange pads got me 90% correction. Still some deeper spots I need to hit with Adapt, but I was more than pleased with the results!

The Ultimate line in general suffers a perception issue, largely because of it's availability, and the way it's marketed.

What machine where you using?

If you found Megs Ultimate Polish difficult to remove, it was caused by operator error.

When used properly, it is one of the easier polishes to remove at the end of the buffing cycle.

I suggest reviewing you polishing technique, before spending more money on products.

UC is derived from 105 and has longer working time as it was formulated to be used with the DA. for years (and still to this day) at megs saturday classes, they would use the DA with UC on many different paints with great success in removing defects. pad choice can determine the aggressiveness, it cuts and finishes very well on it's own...

100% agree.

I have used bottles of UC, can be used as a one step I agree.

Polished my car using HD Speed today, and honestly blown away with the results. The HD Speed works in really good with a LC orange pad, and came off without a problem. The overall defect/swirl removal was around 90%, to achieve the 10% it required more thorough passes. The polish worked in really good making a nice thin layer to work with, also it was definitively easier to remove even after some time when comparing to other AIO's. The overall finish was fantastic, leaving behind slick sealed surface. I also had the McKee's 37 360 at reach, but wasn't able to give it try since my first choice was HD Speed. I give this product two thumbs up without any hesitation .:dblthumb2:

Adapt will stick to some paints, even with proper technique. I stopped using it for that reason.

If you are claiming 90% Correction....you cannot post After shots that were taken from 10 feet away at Night!

That type of claim requires a high level of photographic documentation; including, but not limited to:

Sun Shots

Close-ups

50/50's

Brinkmann if at all possible

.

I'll post some pictures later today, forgot to take them after the correction. I ended up taking them at night to have some pictures attached to the post

Best "AIO" (1 Step) Polish

The 90% correction is based off minor swirls from "dealer complementary washes". The percentage would be lower depending on what damage the car has taken.
