i read somewhere that the black microfiber finishing pad has quite a bit more cut the the orange foam correcting pad, is this true?
 
Fibers can be a form of abrasive.

So "yes" a microfiber pad, made up of individual fibers can and will cut as good or better than a foam pad which has a uniform surface texture.

This is just one of the reasons Meguiar's was able to introduce the Microfiber DA Correction System as a way to use a dual action polisher to replace a rotary buffer for the production detailing industry.

nice thanks i used the gg black microfiber yesterday with m101, im doing one 5 pass run with the micro then one with the orange, i took yesterday off to hammer it but unfortunately i got a big piece of metal in my eye thursday at work i didnt realize how bad it was until yesterday in the middle of working on the car, i had to jump in fully taped and half compounded and drive to the hospitial to get it drilled out lol, i want to finish working it today but i cant even open my left eye, typing this with one eye closed right now
