Poll:Iron removers

Iron X, 3D work well. Britemax not so much. Glad to hear positive feedback on McKee's I've got a gallon of that I haven't opened yet.

Car Pro Iron-X user here just because it's what I've used and know works well. Will have to try McKee's but am all about bang for the buck. Not sure if pricing of theirs is any better. If so yes, if it's equal, I'll prolly stay Car Pro.

Here it is working on some single stage honda paint that was so bad it was chalking. every inch of this vehicle turned purple with contaminents.

These two are with the Auto Finesse... Mk6 Golf R and e46 M3

I've tried Gyeon Iron (not so great, had to hit it several times and slow to react), Carpro Iron-X (from the original five years ago (fantastic product) when you had to be in a very well ventilated area as the smell was dreadful all the way to the more recent ones of a year ago (not as active as they used to be)), CarPro Trix (tar and iron remover, such a waste of time and money), AutoBrite Purple Rain (chewed up several spray heads and rubbish), AutoFinesse Iron Out (not a bad product) and finally Bilt Hamber Korrosol and Autowheels.
BH Korrosol is fantastic and fast reacting, while-
BH Autowheels is a fantastic wheel cleaner and iron remover in one.
So for iron removing by itself Korrosol is by far the best but if BH isn't available in the U.S. then I'd have to go for CarPro Iron-X.

Great. Korrosol is fantastic, best sprayed on a dry car. Autowheels is great in that it is pretty much a contactless cleaner and iron remover in one on lightly soiled wheels (heavily caked wheels will need agitation to make sure it penetrates right in).

In my own experience: IronX > Korrosol > Iron Out > Iron

Bear in mind the following pH's:
- IronX - 6/7;
- Korrosol - 5;
- Iron Out - 6 (this product has had several iterations: I tried it some years ago and the one I used was more acidic than this);
- Iron - 7

All of these products work better on a dry, clean, surface.

I haven't tried McKee's, which seems to be a forum favourite.

So the Dub wheel cleaner at AA can used on the paint with a 5 min dwell time?

I've only played around with Dub on paint on my farm truck. I let it dry on the paint and saw no negative affects. I've have also played around with adding a little glycerin with really helps with increasing the dwell time. I'm not sure if it makes it less affective.

I think if I want to do and iron decon but wasn't sure if the vehicle needed it and didn't want to waste an expensive product like IronX, I would do some test spots with Dub first. Then if it's showing that it does need it, I would go at it with the more dedicated product.
