Seems like my phone just roasted himself, like a baked pig.

Sorry to hear that! What a pain. Hopefully you had a backup recently so you won't be out much.
Any chance it's under warranty at all? You'd think Samsung would be quick to help in this situation...
Lithium batteries are hard.![]()
I hope it wasn't in your pocket at the time.
Wow I never heard of that before and certainly the first time I've seen that happen.
Is this something you've seen before?
No warranty, no backup..maybe to send them the phone.
Do you not sync with Google?

YesDid you use the oem charger they supplied?

Neh, I must buy a new one...From the podcasts I listen to, they say that due to the nature of Lithium Ion batteries, mass production, use/abuse, etc, every phone will have instances of them burning up. If you search S7 edge you'll find some examples. A quick search had someone with your exact situation - phone went up while on the charger.
I'd definitely try to deal with Samsung directly and see what they'll do for you. Hopefully you can get it taken care of soon! Do you have an old phone to fall back on?
I saw this all over the news a while back. A huge embarrassment for Samsung, and a potentially life-threatening problem for the owners of these phones.
Glad you are safe after this.
