Sorry to hear that! What a pain. Hopefully you had a backup recently so you won't be out much.

Any chance it's under warranty at all? You'd think Samsung would be quick to help in this situation...

Lithium batteries are hard. :(

No warranty, no backup..maybe to send them the phone.
 
Wow I never heard of that before and certainly the first time I've seen that happen.
Is this something you've seen before?
 
From the podcasts I listen to, they say that due to the nature of Lithium Ion batteries, mass production, use/abuse, etc, every phone will have instances of them burning up. If you search S7 edge you'll find some examples. A quick search had someone with your exact situation - phone went up while on the charger.

I'd definitely try to deal with Samsung directly and see what they'll do for you. Hopefully you can get it taken care of soon! Do you have an old phone to fall back on?
 
Oh wow I just noticed that's an S7 Edge. That's what I own and use. Did you notice the phone having any symptoms before it did this?

I saw this all over the news a while back. A huge embarrassment for Samsung, and a potentially life-threatening problem for the owners of these phones.

Glad you are safe after this.
 
Did you use the oem charger they supplied?

Yes i am safe, a little upset, but found a guide for saving money at my car business. Hope it will be a good guardian angel.
Had a lot of information on my phone, at least i made something useful today...
