Will HD Cut finish down like FG 400. Got an older Porsche to do with the typical swirls and would like to get away with a one step. I've heard good things about it and not as expensive as 400.
Thanks
I'm confused. Isn't HD Cut 400 and FG400 the same product?
Menzerna, Menzerna Polishing Compounds Products, Menzerna FMJ, menzerna polishes, menzerna car polish, menzerna nano polish, menzerna final polish,
FG 400 is the series name and Heavy Cut 400 is the product name?

I'm confused.... if you are looking for an AIO product, then why not go with HD SPEED, as that is it's intended use? The HD Cut is not intended to be a one step product.
I used FG400 many times and that was my first time using Adapt and it was awesome. IMHO easier to use than FG400, longer working time and easier removal.

What I can say is HD Adapt would and did finish down LSP ready, here's a show and shine I did.

So why did 3d discontinue HD Adapt right?

I think I remember reading from 3d when I asked awhile back that HD Cut + was so close to Adapt that to keep the line simple they decided to discontinue Adapt.
I haven't used Cut + yet and so I can't comment on whether that's the case or not. I prefer not comment or speculate on a products effectivness until I've personally used itrops:

It really sucked when they got rid of HD Adapt. I personally think Polish+ is closer to Adapt than Cut+ is. Cut+ has a much shorter buffing cycle and it's more difficult to remove than HD Adapt. I don't understand how 3D has the best finishing polishes and 1-step polishes in the industry yet when it comes to their compounds they not only lack cut, but they have significantly shorter buffing cycles, are hard to remove, and don't finish particularly well compared to other modern compounds.
Custmsprty, if you haven't used HD Polish+ it is significantly better than the previous version and by far the best polish I've ever used. 3D 502 Finishing polish is also a pretty good 1-step polish but unfortunately it just doesn't finish as well as HD Adapt and i'm not a fan of short buffing cycles so for me it isn't really worth $49 for 32oz when Polish+ is $32. I was REALLY hoping 3D would listen to their customers and come out with HD Adapt+ but because it also uses Adaptive Abrasive technology i think they're worried it will take sales away from AAT 502 which is dumb because they are very different products for two complete different target consumers.
Although I use Polish+ and HD Adapt more than any other product I own, once I run out of adapt I will be using the Boss Correcting Cream for all of my 1-step needs. It is very similar to Adapt IME
though it's a compound, UC works really well and finishes like a polish. by changing pads, you can adjust the level of cut. even though it's a consumer product, it's a sleeper IMO and works really well...
My experience is much different than yours. From all the rave reviews I had seen on the forum before I did my car last year I got a few of the 3D/HD products to try. On my Audi 400 had better cut for me than cut+ and 4000 had better clarity than Adapt, the difference was pretty much a tie with 4000 and Polish plus and since I was using 400 for the 1st step I finished with 4000 and some with 3800 also.
But next time I tried the HD polish and compound on two different cars I found them with a much shorter working time and much harder to remove than Menzerna. I ended up giving away to a forum member on Autotopia the Cut+, Polish+ and the Adapt. I still do have the 3D 501 and 502 if I have a situation where they will work better. The two cars I had problems with the HD products were a black 2012 Kia and a 2015 Tuxedo Black F150. One more thing that was quite different that surprised me was how much more viscus the Menzerna was. When I 1st tried the Adapt I had polish all over since I wasn't expecting it to be that runny.
I think you were most likely using way too much product based on the splatter you had from adapt. If you are the type of person that prefers priming your pad then 3D & HD products are not for you. Both HD Adapt and HD Polish+ perform best with 3 pea sized drops on an unprimed pad. They are very lubricated and especially Polish+ has a great buffing cycle. Not too short and on the dry side like 3D AAT but also not a never ending oily mess that leaves behind a ton of oils like Menzerna.
Everyone has their own polishing style that they prefer and for me nothing fits my style as well as HD Adapt and the current HD Polish+
Custmsprty, let me know what you think of Polish+ once you try it. I do not want to get your hopes up and have you think it's going to correct like Adapt, but for me nothing else finishes like it and it's EXTREMELY easy to remove as long as you don't use too much (be sure to use less than you typically use with adapt). If it smears at all when you go to wipe it off you used too much. It was hard for me to get used to using so little so it might take a few tries to dial in that in.
Please elaborate....UP on the other hand? Don't get me started on that. :/
