Hello everyone, I'm glad I finally joined up. I flirted with joining all the way back in 2005 but was too green and nervous about burning through paint in those days. I'm a member of a couple Lexus forums and a MOD in one also. I've been reading this forum as well as the MEGS forum. I don't know if this is the correct forum to ask advise as well as introduce yourself but here goes. I have a crystal white pearl LS 430 and an Obsidian Black GS 350 (wifes car) that I need to start maintaining properly. I looked into getting them detailed properly but after I added up I told myself If I can change Timing belts, starters and remove cams on an LS I should be up to the task of Learning how to use a DA. I went low budget with the harbor freight DA since I read a lot of good reviews on here and to make sure i would stick with it before I invest more money. Anyway The GS has swirls all over the car as well as scuffs and light scratches. The LS has some swirls but they are not as noticeable as the ones on the GS. Check out the pics of the cars and also the supplies I have to tackle the job. I'm a little nervous but I'm going to try my hand. My plan is to do the roof, trunk and maybe the hood in one day and depending on my success or lack thereof get the rest of the car done over 2-3 weeks since I can only fool with the cars on my days off. I plan to start with the black car since it needs the most work.
