What did you do today non-detailing related?

Dang $75 for a hair cut. Those are NY prices. :). I pay $25 for me and $15 for my son (11). I tip my barber $5 for each of us so its about $50 every trip and we go every 2-3 weeks.

If its soccer season we try to stick to 2 weeks cause kids gotta look good scoring his goals. Glad wifey learned to do it.

Yes my wife doesn't like my $20 guy. I'm not even gonna lie the shape ups at the $75 guy is on point lines are super straight. I call it the Rick Ross cut lol If you know who that is. My hair grows fast so I have to get a haircut every other week. My daughter is only 11 and getting her hair done cost $200. I wanted a girl so I guess it comes with it lol

Nope.

I have done my own haircuts with my clippers for the last 20+ years. The wife trims the back when I'm done, and no tip needed. :)

Once the lockdown began, I said screw it messing with hair cuts, I'm going back to a Jeff Beck shag ...

Re: Installed some Conti DWS06's on the RedSport

Our washing machine clunked out. It was throwing every code. The repair man said it would need at least two control boards, and possibly up to all four at a cost of $200 each so it was a pretty easy decision to buy a new washer and dryer set. Then I found out exactly how grossly out of shape my 44 year old butt is while hauling the pig up the stairs to get it out of the house. Good lord.

Speed Queen is the way to go !

In the “what in the heck was I thinking” dept.

After a early morning meeting, I stopped by a garden center this morning looking for some advice on my yard, the guy recommended a couple of chemicals and some compost which I happily purchased at 8:30 this morning, threw it in my trunk and went on with my day at work.

I come out to the car around 5:30 this evening and find that my car has this god awful smell, looking around to see if I left a bag of food, dead animal, or something, it dawned on me....you dumb @ss, you have two bags of compost in the trunk of the car!!

Mind you, it was around 93-95 degrees today and the smell was kicking!!!

Memo to self, don’t buy compost and go to work, go home first!!

Jay

I gifted myself a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ for the SS. They ride much smoother than the original Bridgestone Potenzas and have plenty of grip for my driving style.

Happy early 56th birthday to me.

Yes, I’m embarrassed by how dirty it is especially the wheels.

Speed Queen is the way to go !

We bought Electrolux. High marks on Consumer Reports and the repair guy said they're better than Speed Queen. I love talking to honest repair men that have to fix the stuff. :D.

On Friday night I took a work colleague’s son and his best mate for a burn in the Mustang.

A little bit of back story –
As a young fella myself, I was completely obsessed with cars and craved any experience car related. My father organised a ride in one of his workers new ute in my early teens. That ute was a then brand new AU Falcon XR6 in Venom Red, fitted with all the desirable options of the time – Chrome Sports bar, Tickford body kit, leather trim and momo steering wheel. It sealed my fate as a Ford man and only fueled my obsession. Later rides in a then new BA Falcon XR6 Turbo ute and a likewise new BA FPV Falcon GT were defining moments in my passion for cars and Fords in particular.
As an adult, having worked hard and bought some nice cars along the way, I am returning the favor so to speak. This colleague of mine has been a massive support to me in so many ways. Like me, she works hard and is the sort of person who would drop everything to help anybody who needed a hand. She is also a single mum, working 6 days a week to bring up to teenage children. Knowing her son was into cars, I offered a ride in the Mustang anytime he would like. With his 15th birthday arriving on Sunday, we organised a flame thrower ride for his extra special birthday gift. He got his pic taken in the driver’s seat and it was a joy to see the enthusiasm and excitement in his eyes. The Mustang put on a great show too, pulling HARD in the chilly winter night time air.

It was a great feeling to give a little something back in appreciation of the support this person has given me, and also perhaps fueling a new generation of car enthusiast in the same way that cemented my passion.

I didn’t even know they made washing machines. They make damn good vacuums though.
