Are you kidding me, he's been a bad light since he took office.
I meant in worse light. Putting the nail in the coffin so to speak.

due to the political climate right now with North Korea this was really bad timing
That being said I do not agree with what others are saying above about the fact that there needs to be more checks and balances or supervisor approval before this type of notification is sent out. This particular event was a mistake and I am sure they’re going to come up with a process to hopefully prevent it from happening again
Here’s my reasoning, This office that handles this is probably minimally staffed so let’s say at 2 o’clock am in the middle of the night there is one person manning this particular room. An earthquake hits somewhere in the middle of the ocean which has a high risk of a tsunami to hit the Hawaiian islands. The operator attempts to get approval from his supervisor but cannot get a hold of him because the supervisor either does not hear his phone or accidentally turned it off, or the battery dies, or something. Now this person has the ability to notify tens of thousands of people however he does not do it in a timely matter because he doesn’t want to get in trouble wasting valuable time. 20 minutes can make a huge difference in notifying people to save lives
I’m sure A lot of people could’ve been saved during the Asian tsunami of 2004 if they would have had a few extra minutes. Unfortunately 280,000 people perished cause they didn’t know the danger making it the sixth deadly event in history. If half of those people would’ve received a text message telling him to seek higher ground I’m sure thousands upon thousands of people could’ve been saved

What does a tsunami have to do with a false ballisitic missile attack warning?
Just curious, how many of those people do you think could even afford to own a smart phone and receive text messages?
