Tire Dressings PERL vs Hyper Dressing D170

This car hasn’t been driven since PERL and Hyper Dressing was applied a few days ago but it has been through a rainstorm after the dressings were applied.

PERL diluted 1:1 on the front tires.

Hyper Dressing diluted 1:2 on the rear tires.

About the same look.

The old cliche, all tires are not created equal.

^^^True^^^

That's why it's a good idea to have more than one type of tire dressing in your arsenal, particularly if you detail for business.

I apply with some soft sponges from the dollar store. Pack of 6 or so for a dollar or 2...

Carrand Brush & Shine Tire Dressing Applicators, tire brush, tire shine applicator

Or

Boar's Hair Wheel Brush

Or

And forgive me forum folks... Chemical Guys also has a 'Flagged Tip Brush' that technically isn't carried here that works well for tire dressings

Thanks Goonie, I think i will get one of those and try it out. Don't think i will pay thirty bucks for a brush to apply tire coating though. I will start off with one of the less expensive ones.

I just don't love the small sponges made for this purpose.

I did a test between both products @1:1 on the same tire a couple of nights ago.

1st I cleaned the tire with Mothers Tire Renew..

Then I applied each 1 to their side of the tire.

We got some light rain overnight.. And some showers yesterday as well, but other than that this truck has only been to the store and back in those 2 days. Maybe 3 miles of driving, tops.

Look at the tire this morning...

It is not economical if after one rain you cant tell that it ever had dressing on it.

Compared to the Perl it is since you can't tell it is on either.

I'm trying Duragloss next after I use up my Zaino. I will probably pick up Hyperdressing for other parts of the cars like engine and undercarriage areas.

Does Hyper Dressing have a consumer equivalent that comes in smaller sized bottles? At the rate I go through tire dressing, I could see a gallon lasting the rest of my natural life!

Anyone in Houston want to split a gallon of Hyperdressing when it goes on sale? :)

PERL offers a smaller bottle...
PERL Coat Plastic & Rubber Protectant, vinyl and rubber dressing, interior protectant
carpro-perl-coat-plastic-rubber-protectant-500-ml-21.gif

Recommend dilution ratio:
External plastics - 1: 3 (1 quantity PERL : 3 quantity water).
Engine – 1:1~3
Tires - undiluted ~ 1:1
Interior rubber / dashboard / leather / vinyl – 1:5

C5, I will be willing to split a gallon with you. I live in NOLA but my office is in Houston. PM when you place the order and we can work out the arrangements.

Thanks

That little bottle of Perl costs more than 3x per oz. than Hyper Dressing.
And as you saw in my pictures, it doesn’t do anything more than Hyper Dressing does.

After 2 days of light rain.

Although the PERL has been to my liking, you are correct on the pricing Eldo.

When my bottle of PERL runs out, I plan on getting a gallon of the Megs HD.

read his post again. also, he may not want to spend $40 on a gallon which would be his only (size) option and sit on the product for a long time...
