What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I like BBQ!

I had BBQ last night too. Eating leftovers as we speak.

The SS received a well deserved bath yesterday. I went in the basement, looked over my stupid high inventory of detailing stuff, shook my head and grabbed the first car shampoo I saw along with a new McKee’s product I wanted to try out, SiO2 Tire Shine. Coincidentally I grabbed McKee’s SiO2 Auto Wash so that’s what went into my iK sprayer for a full car foaming. Wheels and tires were cleaned using an old MF wash mitt and various brushes. Car was rinsed then foamed a second time followed by washing with many wash mitts in one bucket. No fear of marring or scratching my beautiful black paint. Leaf blower used to aid in drying then out in the setting sun for a couple of pics. No LSP as the water was beading like a champ. The SiO2 Tire Shine was applied this morning before driving out into the ice fog for my Monday morning commute.

I got to go talk with Mr. SRT Durango across the street, he’s as goofy as all of us when it comes to keeping the rides clean.

BTW: Notice the exhaust is coming out of the center pipes. That means the bimodal exhaust is on “wake the neighbors.” ;)

Mr. Paul, I loved the opening 2 sentences

I have an unopened ONR, and unopened ONRWW, one open ONR, one unopened TW rinseless (still holding it for you!), Adam’s rinseless, Adam’s red, Adam’s blue, Adam’s Wash n Wax, Optimum Car Wash, Meg’s Ultimate Wash n Wax, Meg’s Gold Class, half gallon of Meg’s D114, CarPro Reset, McKee’s Power wash, McKee’s SiO2, McKee’s strip wash, McKee’s rinseless wash n Wax, and finally McKee’s N914...and that’s just the wash shelf...

I hate to say it but my wife is right, I DO have a problem. :help:

Have a great customer that I have on an 8 week maintenance plan for 4 of his rides and every 6 weeks on 2 others. I did 2 yesterday and 2 today. He’s hella cool and lets me do whatever I feel each vehicle needs.

If I may ask how’d you get those wheel wells so clean

I soaked em with LATA, scrubbed with speed master wheel brush, pressure rinsed, dried with Sidekick and dressed with Meg’s aerosol trim coating.

Did some interior cleaning on the Ford Focus I maintain.

Tested the new Sonax Extreme Glass Cleaner on the inside of the windshield. Worked great and streak free results. When I sprayed it on the sprayer covered it better than the old version. And you wait for it to almost beading up and then wipe it off. There are some cool chemistry going on. Low smell from it too.

Then cleaned the dashboard and center console and steering wheel with Ultima Interior Schampo Gel. Like this alot cause of the nice smell and not beeing overwellming and still doing some serious cleaning.

Applyied Ultima Interior Guard Plus the old version of it. Man I will have interior protection for a very long time with the 12oz bottle LOL.

I use LATA all around the house in addition to the garage. For the price, it’s pretty hard to beat.

Decided to do a Griot's Garage Foaming Surface Wash on the car this evening. All I did was foam the car, let it dwell, rinse and dry and that's it. This is where having a great coating and quality toppers comes into play, simple clean up here!

Last night I had just wipe the car down with a detail spray, open up the hood to to check out the engine bay.

Then I closed the hood, wanted to minimize whatever prints I might have left on the hood. So I used my thumb to push it down closing it.

Well, it made a dent on the hood with my thumb. Tried to take a pic of it but it doesn't show on camera but I could see it.

So at lunch today, I took the car to the PDR guy and got it fixed.

Hood dent is gone, so does the $100 bill.

Lesson learned, will now let hood drop from 8 - 10 inches to close.

Aluminum hood??? ^^^^^^^^^
