JDGolden I’ve got a soft spot for for that gen Camaro/Firebird. In my opinion only bettered by the first 2 gens and its close between them all.
I was lucky enough to own an 87' GN from 1995-2000Yep, hard miles too. I bought it with a gutted interior, bumpers off, etc. I was under the car about to cut off the stock exhaustion favor of a new (used) exhaust when I started poking around the floors and the rear seat area was a bit soft. Didn’t cut the exhaust, and listed it for sale that week.
Btw I agree with you; I love the first two generations a lot.
As for 80s cars, I’m all about them as well. My holy grail is a Grand National.
DFB the car is looking beautiful!

Well I was 29 and made the mature decision to get out if debt. A co-worker at the time flipped cars and I mentioned I was going to take the car to a consignment place and he pulled out a hundred bucks, handed it to me and said I'll give you 99 more tomorrow....done deal. I had my fun with the car, went on the Hot Rod Power Tour for a portion of it, made about 40 passes down the drag strip and enjoyed the car. It had all bolt ons, original engine and trans w/120K on the clock and ran a best of 12.6@109 mph w/1.91 60 ft time. It would've been faster had I had fresh valve springs and the correct converter for the turbo I was running, oh wellNice! Curious, why did you get rid of it?
