What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

After work I did a through wash followed by a clay mitt session in preparation for a polish and ceramic coating when the weather and my schedule cooperate. Will share picts when I finish. One thing I forgot to do before using the clay mitt was to spray an iron remover. Luckily the paint wasn’t badly contaminated and was able to use the fine Nanoskin clay mitt.

Covered in dust from sitting in the work carpark, my fabulous blue Falcon got a wash today.

My Ranger got a wash too. With rain predicted tomorrow, it state of cleanliness wont last long, but I do feel better for detailing it.

I coated these

I love the Supra, LOVE the color but never cared for those stock rims, the 18's on the 4 pot look better IMO.

Can't wait to see THOSE on the mark V

It’s nice to see a car that’s not a “she”

Finally a car with balls. Lol.

First...that was hilarious...

I quit giving my car girl names a long time ago. They’re more like good buddies...they do their best for you as long as you’re not a jerk and buy a beer occasionally.

I didn’t like the two toned wheels at all. I waited to see if they would grow on me because they are quality wheels (forged from the factory) but I just couldn’t get any closer to them

I’ll post pics on Saturday after the new ones get put on.

Nice Supra, I interested to see the new wheels. Very cool cars.

19x9 in the front. 19x10 in the rear. Tires are 255/35 front and 275/35 rear. Both wheels and tire are the same size as stock. Gonna move the stock tires and TPMS over to the new wheels.

Day two of messing around with a Bodyshop car. This thing is awful, it’s had various parts painted at different times. None of the jobs have been that great either. No more than 2 panels buff out the same, so it’s a lot of mixing and matching to see what works on each panel, think test spots on every dang panel

It’s a straight black 18 impala with dirt nibs, fish eyes, orange peel that you could probably use to zest and actual orange, and all sorts of neglect. If I didn’t respect the Bodyshop manager so much, I probably would have refused the job haha.

That international hood looks beautiful. Great job on that!

3D One and heavy cut microfiber pad
Lake Country White Polish pad with CarPro Essence

If time were not of the essence, pun intended, I would have stuck with the griots garage 3 inch machine. I like taking my time and using smaller pads on curves and corners. The 15 mm long throw tends to get away from me.

More later...

Car had a fair amount of dust on it since the Monday wash, so I got after it this evening. Added some Auto-Fanatic snow Foam soap to the IK 1.5 and foamed the car down. For the tires and wheels I sprayed some Brake Buster on them, let it dwell and then rinsed down the entire car. I then grabbed some TWHS Wet Wax, sprayed down a panel at a time time and dried the car. I've gotta tell you guys this...if you haven't used TWHS Wet Wax...go out and get it and you'll be glad you did!

I totally would’ve bought a blue Soul, if the local dealer wasn’t charging over MSRP+ dealer add-ons.

What were the add ons....pinstriping, door edge molding and that lifetime paint sealant
