What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Maintenance wash on my old-mans Ranger today, and the first detail on my new floor. :D

Was nice to be working free from puddles of water. :xyxthumbs:

In terms of the exterior, nothing special today, it just needed a good clean! I did use some Gtechniq W8 to remove baked on bugs and dried with the help of OG Drying Aid.

Onto the interior, and with the rubber mats removed, I wanted to try a technique I spotted on the Rag Company Youtube channel about using P&S Paint Gloss as a vacuum aid, along with the Fur-Eel vac attachment.

Paint Gloss is usually reserved for exterior detailing, but here it can be used as a anti-static agent to speed up the vacuum process. As mentioned in the video, only a few light sprays is required before vacuuming as normal. I feel like this reduced the repeated motions to remove the debris stuck to the carpet.

Happily, my detailing seat moves over the Ribtrax with ease.

What size diameter does the fureel have?

Went over to my friend’s house and taught him how to take care of his new 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L. He usually purchases used cars but with the crazy used car market, they went for a new one and wants to keep it looking good.

So I taught him how to do a rinseless wash with McKee’s N-914 as well as clean the wheels and tires. Tires were dressed with Gyeon Tire Express. Then we put on Griot’s Ceramic 3-in-1 since so many on here recommend it for decent protection while being easy to apply. Then we cleaned the leather with Connolly Hide Care and a Sonax Leather brush. The rest of the interior was cleaned with P&S Xpress Interior Cleaner. Finally, we protected all interior surfaces with Pinnacle Leather and Vinyl Coating. Damn my shoulders were sore. The before and after photos don’t show much difference but the wheels shine well and tires look good. And I have an appreciative friend that now has some knowledge and tools to clean his vehicle without swirling it up.

AFTER:

We did the cleanup on Sun and it has been raining the last few days, so I asked my friend if he noticed water leaving the glass quickly or the beading on the paint. He said they've been driving their older car because they don't want to get it dirty. LOL!

The blue cars turn today.

Bead Maker works brilliantly on this car, used on the paint, door jambs and wheels today -

I am so torn on Bead Maker...

I have never used it. I feel as if it's an incredibly polarizing product.

It's pretty cheap but I feel like it's one of those that's better than nothing if you'll use it with every wash basically. I have an almost full bottle that I might just try to consistently use and drain next summer.

Other products are able to repel the dust in my garage better though...

I resisted it for a long time but decided to give it a go.

I think the amount of hype, negative or positive, around Bead Maker detracts from the product itself. I think if you go into it knowing it's not the be all and end all, you will appreciate what it delivers in terms of gloss and slickness.

1st contact wash in 14 months. Also, 1st time with the Kranzle being wall mounted

Almost thought DFB floated over for a visit for a second

I had the same thought.

Nice setup WaxMaster1. Both of them. Scratch that, make that all 3 of them as I missed the QuickJacks on first glance.

Another 100 degree day so it was a garage wash of the Jaaaaaaag today.

I noticed a slight amount of transfer appearing on the Light Oyster leather seats, so it was out with Cleanse and Nourish for a quick treatment. Whoever spec'd this car (dealer?) did good, I love the contrast between the cream coloured leather and the otherwise black plastics and carpet.
