What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Loving that floor and jealous at your weather yo wash your car. I haven’t been able to even drive mine because of the snow.

Isn't it amazing how we always want what we cant have. I hate summer, and on a 100+ deg day I could only dream of a bit of snow to cool me down!

And thanks regarding the floor! The state of the floor had been bugging me for years and I knew it was never going to be a simple or cheap exercise. To most, the garage is where you park your car, who cares what the floor looks like? Well, I spend so much time out there, both working and unwinding, that it was just a matter of jumping in the deep end and getting on with it. Still took me two years to make that decision though! I still cant believe I did that myself!

Not much self-cleaning with Wet Coat going on here folks . Warmest day of week is today with a predicted high of 44F. Hoping to do a decent wash (will use Reset) this evening.

My 268K mile Odyssey was due for some love. BF One Step applied with the "Finisher" and left overnight. Today I applied BF Si02. Very slippery and ready for another 3 months... I get bored and next a fix long before the products wear out.

Stuff smells like paint thinner. It's naptha-based. No IPA.

Thanks, that's the "practice mule" to stay in shape for the other cars.

Auto-wash as well.

Wouldn't the AutoFoam be the prep or "pre-wash"

CF is like eraser so if i were using but not polishing i would AF pre wash, wash, CF. BH recommends claying first.

Well I was able to escape work yesterday and gave my truck a deep clean from the first snow of the year…

Used Griots Surface Foam soap to clean first step with small brush and a couple micro fiber towels then used Carpro Reset for the first time and really happy with how it washed and cleaned.

Used my roller power washer for the under carriage.

Used Griots 3-1 ceramic spray wax to top the paint and wheel wells and wheels. Applied more glass sealant and then waited for it to dry and put three cans of Fluid Film on the frame and undercarriage to help protect everything even further.

Sure feels nice to have to clean and ready for the next round of snow

Thank you for that NJNinja as I was wondering about exactly that.

Thank you!

AF had no cleaning power Btw I don't have a power washer, hope I'll be ok

I think the cleaning power is shown in the red meters underneath. On videos of real world test I think it goes back and forth between the two and I think it’s because of different road grime that different users experience.

I have read on DW and other places that using a regular hose, AF doesn’t rinse free. I personally haven’t tried it with a hose. If the Worx HS has more PSI than your hose i’d try that.

Also if not investing in a PW maybe something like this?

I found it on the A and it connects to garden hose I believe. concentrates water to give more pressure. I’ve read enough that i wouldn’t try to rinse with garden hose personally.

Also emailed Bilt Hamber about using a hose. Their response.

“Hi Colin,

Many thanks for this and for low pressure rinsing please use Touch-Less.

Kind regards,”

Pete Hammer

Side note:

Surprised you didn’t give their Touch On sealant a go. Passing up on a new LSP that noone on AG has tried?

Has someone been attending Detailing Anonymous meetings behind our backs?
