What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Smart move rotating the spare in, wonder how many people do this, makes alot of sense

Mostly DIY owners. I rotate all 5 on my Jeep and it makes a noticeable difference.

See I was thinking just to get use out of the spare, I mean it's there...use instead of it dry rotting away

Going up to 32 today, so instead of waiting almost 3 weeks to clean the ES it will be O N E week, WOW....what a concept! I know this product isn't as strong as the Bilt-Hamber pre-washes but today's the day it gets tested on the salty ES. I'm also going to be trying CarPro Retyre on the Blizzaks, so 2 new products in the rotation today.

Pics and comments in a couple hours, stay "tuned"

So I just got back from the quarter wash, 28 degrees...no problem, LOL. I actually foamed the entire car before I went into the bay, had to move over for another customer actually as I was only halfway done. I didn't get to try put the CarPro Retyre because another person lined up behind me while I was in there, didn't wanna be "that guy" at the carwash I pretty much used the entire mix from the IK Foam 9 on the ES and I will say I did see puddles of dirty mess, so it did its job. I added a couple minutes to the cycle and used the SPOT FREE RINSE as I knew I was driving back home afterwards...doesn't matter, I need to do a WW on the ES as it's a dried up water mess I mean I could leave it be and call it a day...yeah right

After lunch I got out there to do a WW, this time it was DG RW made up as a WW. I used more than usual to be on the safe side, even though the Koch Chem GsF did ALL the work earlier.

I sprayed CarPro Retyre on the sidewalls and let it dwell and it didn't take too long for brown to start appearing...remember I foamed and rinsed the tires and wheels earlier with Koch Chem GsF, so this Retyre impressed me! While it was dwelling I sprayed Auto-Fanatic 007 Gloss Enhancer on the rims and wiped them clean, then swiped the tires clean!

Next I wiped the ES down with the Auto-Fanatic 007 Gloss Enhancer to give it some POP as well as a little protection. It's about 32 right now and I had no issues using it, pretty good! To finish up I wiped down the jams and also my pedals.

I've enclosed pics of the tires (in the sun and out of it) well after swiping them with Retyre to show how they look after drying. I'd say the TW Endura tire coating is doing great but I did top them last Sunday w/TWHS graphene tire "coating", either way they look great and the ES is clean and I feel better

I'm probably going to top the tires with some Adam's graphene tire dressing for the hell of it, why not right

Washed my neighbor's (new to him) Cayenne. He said he paid to have it coated 4 weeks ago. It was covered in swirls and had no hydrophobic properties at all, as if it wasn't even protected.

I told him I bet it wasn't even coated. What would cause a coating to die in 4 weeks? Any thoughts?

That sounds a lot like the extra crap dealerships are doing these days to stay afloat in this market. I had one recently tell me that "good news, we're not charging market adjustments and selling new cars at msrp but you'll need our 3M and Tint protection package. All just to protect your investment!"

Did your friend have that work done by the dealer at purchase?

Yep, it was done by the dealer. I took a video so he can show them they are full of ####.

I bet your friend is lucky if they even used an AGO reviewed spray seal or wax. Such a racket for the unsuspecting.

It is sad, he paid $2k to have it done too. What a rip off. Worst part is that he has purchased 5 cars through them and they treated him like this.

I hope people are remembering the dealerships that are doing this when the market settles again. Kills me to see people get swindled by this and then the attitude of the dealers when others call them on it. I doubt your friend has much recourse but maybe since they seem to be a frequent shopper the dealership will make it right.

3rd contactless wash in a row, 2nd with Touchless. Definitely hope I can get a contact wash in next weekend to get the car really clean.

I think come spring, Bilt-Hamber Touchless & Auto-foam are going to be VERY popular pre-washes here

Gave the jeep a hand wash. Gotta give some credit to 3D pre soak... as it does indeed impact a lsp that is not a coating. I could definatly tell a difference in water behavior after the bucket wash. So i had to hit it with 3D bead it up.

Gave the truck a handy too but, water froze up on the panels when i went to dry. So it didnt deserve a pic lol.

Looks great and I'm not sure how you black vehicle owners do it during the winter...my God! I mean my old Abarth 500 was black but it was metallic black which was much more forgiving, plus I had that underground garage at my disposal

Haha, i hate black. The price was right on the buick...so comprimised with the color, and its the DD so it doesnt always get the full face of makeup.

The other two vehicles rarely see the wet winter roads so im able to breath normal
