What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I finally managed to get my hands on a bottle of CarPro ReTyre. The XR6 was next in line for attention so it became the test subject.



For some reason, my sample was not sent with the standard foaming trigger. I have seen reviews that complain about how the foaming trigger uses product quite quickly. For my test today, I used a surplus Tolco style CarPro trigger sprayer.



Agitated with a brush, the product foamed up slightly and rinsed away easily. These tyres were not especially dirty so there was limited reaction from the product. However, once dried the tyre did not exhibit the bare, matte look I would normally get from Wise Guy or Brake Buster. I have a foaming tip that will fit this sprayer head so I need to try it out with that before giving a final verdict on ReTyre, as it stands I am a little disappointed.

Having said that, the tyres did dress up nicely.



The rest of the car got my usual 2 hour treatment.........



The XR6 gets the least amount of detailing action these days, I don't drive it as much as the others. But when I do give some attention, the way Sensation Blue shines makes me weak at the knees. A very non-car-guy colleague once spotted it parked down town, he said he knew it was mine because it was "glowing". I have never forgotten that comment because he was right, Sensation positively glows. :D

Looking forward to hearing what you have to say about Reset once you use the foaming sprayer. If you don't like the results, you could always try the ew TWHS Hyper Foam because it pulls brown out of tires immediately AND works on wheels too, a TRUE tire & Wheel cleaner! It's also available in a gallon, making it even more cost effective

I cleaned up the carpet finally on the 90 vert. Just placed another order with AG, another 200 dollars worth.....

I generally always get good results from CarPro products so I'm actually pretty disappointed with ReTyre after my first use, it just didn't strip the tires like I thought it should. I'll get it out with a foaming tip next week and see how it performs.

As for the TWHS Hyper Foam, another product yet to arrive here.

Looks like I finally managed to remove some of the water spots on the ST, but it took Diamond Cut on a MF to do it.

I got my deionizer resin media replacement for this season today and it was happily the same price as last year.
 
I was organizing my cart this morning so I can wash both rigs this weekend

I was topping off all my sprayers with window cleaner, etc and I refilled my heavy car soap mix and was screwing the sprayer back on

Hooray for CG knock offs of the Tolco sprayers

Wasn’t reefing on it, it just let go

I got so mad I pulled the other 2 of these sprayers off and tossed them in the trash with half a bottle of CG VRP and a quarter gallon of CG blue window cleaner

Done

So over anything to do with CG

Now I need to order a half dozen spray bottles

In today's competative product market that is unacceptable. I know companies cut costs as they can, but when the customer can't even use the product because of quality control, well they lose customers = sales. So what was the point skimping of quality? Doesn't even have to be top quality, just product that works. And with forums like this word gets out and more people skip the products. I know I carefully read about any product a member on here had negative feedback to write about.

Its sad that so many companies seem to have adopted a quantity over quality model for doing business

Is it possible they had to find an alternate sprayer supplier due to supply chain issues?

I am 99% sure this was the case because I bought these during covid times but as I have stated in another thread they were shown as having Tolco sprayers

I already had to request replacements for the 3 bottles because 2 cracked at the neck (others had this same complaint) and now the sprayers, which never worked right in the first place, are cracking

If they advertise something as coming with XYZ and instead it shows up with cheap China crap then shame on them for not just saying "sorry, we can't get good stuff and we don't want to rip you off, check back later"

Instead they ship garbage and count on most folks to say screw it, its not worth the effort to just send them back

My bad for not just shipping them back immediately when I saw they were junk

I think they were $12 for 3 bottles so not the end of the world but still
