What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I like that look. I didn’t much care for the looks of TWHSATSSC on my Michelin Pilots so went back to DG253.

You killed me with that acronym That said I didn't have an issue with your alphabet soup product on my Michelin Pilot Sport 4s but we all know how finicky they CAN be

Meguiars is also releasing a ceramic tire shine. Should be out soon.

Tried putting Adam’s Graphene spray coating on windshield and added some TW graphene to tires.

Not sure if the coating will work as it was 35 degrees.

Someone needs to come out with a glass product that works in cold.

Today I tripped over my bucket of ONR and then almost fell onto my pressure washer. Both of these are in my downstairs hallway. The BRS and UBS are hibernating nicely in the rineseles solution, waiting to get used once again soon.

We're almost a week into January and the temps here in CT will continue to be in the mid 40's for another week. Truly fantastic. I remember one New Year's Eve my wife and I were leaving a restaurant with friends and the thermometer on the rear-view mirror read 1*. This year the high was 51* . Amazing stuff.

Jealous. Usually we roller coaster in and out of 30s and 60s so I rarely even need to bring products inside. This year we can't get away from 30s as the high and loads of snow. The weather in Colorado is finally what people think the weather in Colorado is like year round.

Maybe try drinking the hard stuff while remaining upstairs?:laughing::cheers:

Not a lot I can do. We're getting a pretty good rain. I've considered pulling it out of the garage and soaping it down but I learned years ago that trying to dry a car when it's this damp outside is just futile. No matter how many times I wipe it down there will always be streaks. I'm considering doing it anyway just to get some of the road grime that was kicked up from the wet roads the last couple of days.

I keep hearing stories of how winters were back in the day, not just in CT but also NYC. It seems like decades ago you could almost be guaranteed to get a few whammer storms. That doesn't appear to be the case any longer. Late December to late February seems to be the window here with most snow falling between mid-January to early February. I guess we're not out of the woods yet, but the point is that the frequency of larger storms seems to have tapered off as I've gotten older. If I can do a bucket wash by April 1st I'll be in good shape. The car doesn't get washed from Dec - Apr in general, which ordinarily is NOT a good thing, but because I do so much less commuting nowadays it doesn't even get bad.

Still seeing some beading!! LOL

Walking to grade school in the D (1976-84) we always had a base of snow on the ground by Thanksgiving, those days are long gone and because I drive for a living I'm good with that️The 1st snow is "amateur hour" and because of the shortages of truck drivers there's alot of people behind the wheel of those things that shouldn't be. That said I'm not excusing people in cars either, awd gives you a false sense of security and more importantly MOMENTUM

So before taking the EN this morning for a DCT update I wanted to wash it, ofcoarse This time I got to try the just released Griot's Garage Brillant Finish snow foam. I added 4 oz to 1 gallon of distilled. I first foamed the tires and wheels and used my Mother's wheel brush (lately been just foaming w/o agitation) and once done did the entire car. This product produced a nice foam in the IK Foam Pro 12 and once done left the EN very clean. I'd like to know the pH but I'm sure it's not too high, so this will be a no-touch option come spring/summer/fall as well as a pre-wash when I wanna change it up a bit, GREAT job Griot's

So yeah, I washed the EN before getting the DCT recall done today at the dealership but I wanted it PERFECT, plus I'm bored as it's the typical Midwest day...32 and gray

I decided to do a Feynlab WW because it wasn't really dirty but I love the deep down CLEAN this product delivers consistently, so let's go. Grabbed 5 350 GSM Eagle edgeless microfiber towels and 1 500 GSM edgeless microfiber towel for the glass, plus a rando for the wheel faces/spokes. Once done I could see that little "extra" pop from the C L E A N

Earlier I applied the DIY Detail tire dressing and it's a water-based product that turned more glossy after a while but not "used car lot" glossy, nice product and they're on a roll with the products right now

Gotta do an engine bay wipedown right now, almost forgot

Did 4 oz for 1 gallon seem like a good dilution? Gonna adjust it for next time at all?

So before taking my g/f's Cruze in for an oil change I got it washed. It was very dirty, the p/s rear tire looked like it went off-roading

For the tires/wheels I used Bilt-Hamber Surfex @3:1 and my Mother's tire and wheel brush. Then I made a special mix in the IK Foam Pro 12...4 oz of Bilt-Hamber Auto-foam, 1 oz of DIY Detail Incredible Suds & 1 oz of DIY Detail All Clean and foamed it down and ran through the touch-free wash. The very bottom panels have a very light haze of traffic film, not too bad!
