Buddy of mine booked an appointment for late spring to have me correct and coat his black 2011 Silverado. He decided to drop off his summer wheels to have me coat them now while they are already off the truck. These black powder coated 22 inch wheels were beyond dull. So for this application IGL Eclipse industrial coating was chosen. When sprayed out of a HVLP gun it will self level with minimal texture and provide a thick chemical resistant, high temp coating.

Prep- Cleaned with Mckees foaming wheel cleaner gel, Megs Iron Decon, LATA. Any tar and sticker residue was removed with Goof off professional grade. Wiped with IGL Precoat

Application- Sprayed with 4oz mini HVLP gun at about 8 psi then left to cure overnight.

Lookin good man! It’s always nice to be able to get things like wheels [my favorite is matts] off the car before actually getting started on the vehicle.

Looking good!! Protected to the max now! Can you share info on the gun you are shooting with? I am interested in perhaps picking one up, looks like it makes coating wheels so much easier/faster with better coverage.

Thank you!

Agree. Would be interested in the sprayer set up.

Thanks guys!

Honestly the sprayer setup is just a 4oz Hvlp gun from harbor freight. I run a 30 gal compressor. I set the pressure from the compressor to 25-30psi. Then the reg on the gun to about 8psi for spraying.

Well done! How would you say Eclipse compares to IGL Wheel?

Blows it away. Not even in the same boat. But it only comes in 200ml and 500ml sizes so the initial cost is pricey. But broken down my price per ml it's actually cheeper in the long run.

But like there paint coatings you need to be authorized for it's purchase.

Wow. I know that you typically like to use Hyper Dressing on tires. Did you use the same IGL Eclipse on these tires?
