Would this be a good choice for cleaning and sealing new black paint? I’m also considering Pinnacle jeweling wax but would prefer a polymer base on the paint. Then it would be topped with Pinnacle liquid wax. I’m concerned about using something too aggressive on a new vehicle.

It is a fantastic product and it is just fine to use.

If you mean new black paint as in a new vehicle it is fine.

If you mean new black paint as in it has just been repainted then I would wait untill the paint has fully put gassed as One Step has a sealant in it. Ask your painter how long before you can wax/seal the paint.

see this post: Please Help Fixing Swirl Marks!

One Step would be fine for a new car. You don’t have to use too aggressive a pad if you only need minor correction. The stuff is versatile. Blackfire polymers look amazing on black.

I was planning to just use a light pad. It mostly needs a cleaning and sealing, paint looks fine. I don’t feel like doing a two step process in one day. Thanks.

Toyota Tundra. First black truck. I can already see it’s going to be fun trying to keep it looking clean.

Get a quart of the BF One Step.

Get some foam polishing pads. For a truck this size, I'd have at least 6 to do the INITIAL buff. After that you'll probably only need 3-4. Pads get wet, or saturated or soggy, (pick your word), as you move around a vehicle, especially a vehicle this size. When foam pads get wet - they stop doing what they are supposed to do.

Foam cutting pads quit cutting.

Foam polishing pads quit polishing.

Foam finishing pads - well they probably keep polishing - most of the action is from the abrasives but you get the idea.

If you don't like it - let me know and I'll have customer service replace it with anything on the AG store for same price - no shipping cost to you.

Most important - let it fully dry before wiping off. The only reason why is because it makes it SO EASY. If you wipe off wet that's the same thing as SPREADING. Test yourself and vindicate me.

:)

BF One Step it is then. I’ll order some extra polishing pads and clay bars also. Thanks much.
