DFB's Garage

Don't let them get you down. Treating people like crap is an obvious sign they're dissatisfied with their own lives, and are jealous of your satisfaction. You know what makes you happy, and you do it. A lot of unhappy people like to make others unhappy.

A while back I wondered if leaving my last job was the right thing to do, but I now know I was right. I had this inkling that they were going to shift my boss into the office for a few days a week, and leave covering everything by myself. Well I've heard they haven't replaced me, it's been almost 4 months, I made the right call.

Props for giving it a try. I’m surprised you gave the nod to Brake Buster. Maybe it’s because they mix those RTU bottles @1:1lol.

The real shame is missing out on the clearance price. I know that had to suck because we all love scoring a deal more than anything. Lol.
Hyper Dressing RTU is diluted 1:1. It looks like the non-acid wheel & tire cleaner is not diluted.

What? Two days off in a row! I can't remember when that last happened. In other words, I got a "weekend".

First off, an Absolute and Bead Maker rinse-less wash of the Jaguar.

Interior was given a quick wipe with ONR, tyres dressed with Angelwax Elixir. The Jag is now back in storage with a freshly washed cover over it.

With the Ranger retrieved, it was next in line for a rinse-less, in this case, N-914. I also cleaned the wheels and tires with Brake Buster beforehand.

Drying aid here was P&S Defender, I really like this product!

Likewise Swift, a very good product!

Tyres dressed with diluted Perl.

With that, all 5 cars are now "clean"! :D

Anytime your feeling down go out to the garage and look at all your car's

You have done very well for yourself and nobody CAN take that away!!!

There are people with worse problems than me, but sometimes it's hard to see out of the black hole that I find myself in, so those cars in the garage can be hard to "see" sometimes.

ALL holes matter.

Let's see them grow big enough balls to come out here and do something about it......... ;)

Yeah… things are nice. But sometimes having things isn’t the problem.

Got rained out today, although I did end up working in it for an hour or so. Annoyingly, as is always the case, it seemed to stop raining AFTER I had given up and gone home. :doh

With my longest running customer away for a 6 weeks, I was given the keys to the Landcruiser and asked to run/drive it once a week to keep the battery charged. So with the rain curtailing any garden related work, it seemed like the day for it................

The Landcruiser has 137,000 km's on the clock and has actually been used for its intended purpose rather than being a tax write-off for asset rich farmers. I can see why these cars with their V8 diesel engine were so popular, they just have a layer refinement missing from most diesels. Amusingly, the "POWER" button does actually give the engine more power.

Having said that, its hardly a powerful or quick vehicle, and I can't help wondering how hard that engine would be working to propel its huge curb weight and as well as lugging the huge caravans and horse floats that are typically hooked up to these things..............that is when they are not being used to drive to the supermarket and drop Sebastian at the private boys collage.

Oh, and don't let the "Toyota-ness" fool you, this vehicle still rattles and creaks like any other well used vehicle. The difference is, you have paid $100,000+ for the privilege.

Messing about today with a product that I had forgotten about a couple of times.............

DIY Detail Rinse-less Wash is a surfactant rather than polymer-based product like ONR or Absolute. DIY even suggest that it can be foamed, although personally that doesn't appeal to me.

Like the brands mission statement, this product just works. The subtle apple fragrance is pleasing, and the rest of the user experience is similar to that of N-914. I hardly put it to a grueling workout, so I'm keen to see how it performs at the dirtier end of my rinse-less limits.

And finally, I'm starting to see some progress with my latest project, always frustrating waiting for the assistance of other people, even when you are paying for the job.

Also have to get some AC in there, then it's perfect.

Actually I was thinking of installing' an air-con in my garage, for those hot Aussie afternoons.
