So, back in early 2008, if I had the budget, this is the car I would have ordered..................












FPV GT-P in Sensation Blue (the same as my XR6) with Silver Stripes. The GT-P had bigger 6 piston brake up front with 4 pistons on the rear, Recaro-style seats, standard leather trim, better wheels and more chrome. It shared the same DOHC 4V 5.4 BOSS V8 with 315 kW / 422 hp with the regular GT. I would have gone with the ZF automatic as well.

Back in 2008, the XR6 cost me $44,000 on the road, the GT-P would have been closer to $90,000 AUD.

What was supposed to be a relaxing couple of days to regroup, turned into a nightmare due to a couple of stuff ups. I'm not going there right now because I'm still very annoyed, but I'm sure we've all been there, were a simple task turns into a massive repair. And the curse of being obsessed means I tend to fret over things like that until they are remedied. Hopefully, I can get back on track soon, both in my head and my stuff ups. Sometimes, you have to know when to STOP before you make things worse.

So, onto something more pleasant, although tainted by my state of mind at the moment. I'm currently trialing some products from Mirch, in this case their Tyre Clean. I still prefer Brake Buster. :doh:





It also gave me a chance to try Blue Candy.............





This soap is super foamy, but also very nice as a bucket wash. It's slick and rinses freely. Unlike the other Mirch products used yesterday, Blue Candy is scented, in this case a sweet bubble gum aroma.

You know how certain scents bring back both good and bad memories. Well, Blue Candy reminds me of the sort of commercial cleaning products they used at my primary school. And primary school was not a happy place for me. As such, I don't think I like the scent.

I do like the soap as a whole though, both in performance and price. A 500ml bottle is only $14.99 and 5 liters $49.95, noticeably cheaper than NV Snow or even Meguiar's soaps in similar sizes.

The rest of the car was taken care of with some regular go-to's; OG Drying Aid on the paint, door jambs and engine bay, P&S True Vue on the glass, NV Boost v1 on the wheels, OG Tire Dressing on the tyres.

Now looking forward to a hopefully calmer couple of days next week.

There's one of these in pieces in a garage I walk past every day, orange with black mascara. It's been there since I moved here over 3 years ago. I've only seen it out on the road twice, he told me every time he gets it out the neighbours call the cops, it has no rego, no exhaust, but it's usually because he's doing a burnout.

Only cost me $40,000 as I claimed the GST back on it, but I know.

While most 20-something's have a social life, parties, booze, drugs, holidays.................I worked my ar.e off instead. And look where that lead me, a grumpy middle aged man with no friends.

I typed under search P&S Defender SiO2 and your thread came up. Curious if you have it? I know your a big fan of Bead Maker!

I have Defender and have used it a few times.



Overall, I like Defender. It's very easy to use and requires minimal working to deliver a streak free result. The scent is not a standout like Beadmaker, or the gloss and slickness for that matter. However, I think you would have to be a hard judge to not be impressed with the overall finished result.

I think Defender will be a great choice for Pro detailers who want to add something to the paint with minimal additional effort. The fact it's easier to apply than something like Reload but delivers a similar quoted longevity is a big bonus. Having said that, and like all of these spray sealants, don't expect to achieve those quoted 6-month longevity claims.

I still prefer Bead Maker, the scent, gloss and slickness are hard to beat in my opinion. But if you want something longer lasting, then go for Defender.

Another sh.t house day of foggy depression. At least I came home to my gorgeous puppy dog and a package from my favorite supplier.

When I last spoke to the owner, he asked if I wanted anything from overseas............I mean, is the Pope Catholic? :lol I'm still pressing him for a Vyper Chair, although he now has a Maxshine knockoff, which doesn't interest me, I want the real thing.

But something I asked for, more than once, arrived in today's order.







To brutally honest, this is a complete waste of time and money, but that would be thinking logically. The purpose of this small plug is to stop the "pee pee" dribble escaping the end of the hose when winding it up and when not in use. Having wound up my new hose a few times now, it is most certainly a thing and this small piece of stainless steel will solve that problem. Pleasingly, the cost of this plug is exactly the same as I would pay ordering directly from OG............but without the three figure shipping fees.





The very, very important thing with this part is to remember to remove it before turning the machine on. Forgetting this will blow the o-ring in the coupler or cause it to lock in place.

My new pressure washer setup is now complete..............save for the bloody electrician who has been dicking me around, I finally gave up waiting and called someone else. For context, I've been waiting since Easter for this guy. :nomore:

I like the look of that stool. If it's under $200 when available in the US I'm going to have to seriously considering buying one. The cheapo $50 Torin stool from Amazon has never been particularly comfortable or stable.

The thing I don't like about the Viper chair is that it doesn't drop low enough for me. I want my stools to be able to get really low and there's not that many that get low enough for me.

Yeah, I with you on that. From what it looks like in the pictures, it's still too high even on the lowest setting. I've had people tell me that it's perfectly fine, but I suspect that correlates with people trying to justify their very expensive stool.

To be honest, I have been more than happy with the basic detailing seat I have now, just seems so fit for purpose, especially now that I have fitted the padded insert.

This one looks better for detailing but can’t really sea how it’s more functional than the basic one we all have now from Griots and such.

You can buy one right now from Harbor Freights for $59. Comes with the pad and bigger cup holders.

I don't think that Maxshine stool is available yet in the USA/Canada, but it retails for $325 AUD.

When you look at the crappy seat material and wonky stitching, I don't think its worth $300+ AUD.

I had problems with the padding shifting/twisting as I moved from wheel to wheel. I put some double-sided Velcro along the edges to secure it properly.

Oof, yeah, no. That's still too expensive. You're right that the stitching does look pretty iffy and the lack of a tray for any kind of storage is another point against it.

Since having full wrap PPF, I don't break out the pressure washer as I too scared to -lift an edge- .....so I don't use it as much.
I sparingly use it just for wheels and foam if it's filthy

On the -cap-, I dunno. I would think having it open is a good thing. While not much air is going to circulate, my POV is moisture in dark environment vs having something a bit more drier, is a good thing. Sometimes I actually take the compressor and will -blow out- the line if I don't think I may be using it for awhile (similar to blowing out the irrigation lines when winter comes)

Fashion vs function aside, are you keeping the hose (capped) when not in use.

This one you have here looks like a good height. So that top is actually a pad and was moving on you?
