DFB's Garage

He'll be hanging out in the parking lot accosting strangers "Hey buddy, wash your car? It's free!"

We could get him a filthy rag, a spray bottle of dirty water, and a cardboard sign that says “wash your windows for a buck” and find him a busy street corner

Can you guys imagine Klasse not being able to wash his car for a week?

He will probably have to be sedated!

I'll be leaning on my peers quite a bit next month I did this almost 2 yrs ago, I think I made it 6 days, LOL!

I waiting to hear from Deyon, or others, who've used this coating already.

A movie about an alcoholic clown starring Bobcat Goldthwaite. I have a friend whose judgement I normally trust but when he raved about that movie I had to ask him if he was well. I will concede, though, that it's billing as the funniest movie about an alcoholic clown is probably accurate. I found it unwatchable but then I believe I may be the only person on this planet that's never watched "The Fast and the Furious" despite repeated attempts to try (it's just so *awful*, how did they end up making 37 or whatever sequels?). I mention this to share that my judgement is probably a bit outside of the mainstream.

I did manage to watch the first F&F, but none of the others, except for Hobbs and Shaw, which isn't a car movie at all, it's more of a mindless action movie.

The more people rave about something and try and convince me to watch it, the less likely I will. I've only ever seen half of the first episode of Game of Thrones for example, even though everyone else in my family loved it.

We all like what we like, and you just have to accept that not everyone likes what you like.

Ummmmm

Count me in to the “Never Seen It” club

F&F and probably every other movie made in the last 30 years

Except for Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, of course

Well, I got to some point in the first episode of GOT and just got up and went to the garage or something

The boss watched that episode and every freaking other one too

Go figure

I read the first and second books and they weren’t half bad

It’s funny she hasn’t even tried watching the newer series

She also watched years of the Walking Dead and I couldn’t stand it

I watch very very very little television

Actually I do! Kinda peeved I couldn't score a ticket to The Beat tour stop at the Copernicus Center in November, would really love to see Tony Levin that close (CC isn't a real big venue) and pretend I could ever play like him. I'm keeping an eye out on the secondary market in case a single becomes available for a reasonable price but not holding my breath given how quickly they disappeared once they went on sale.

2012 Honda Civic VTI-L Detail

please explain to me why older females always have a habit of curbing wheels?

Tell me about it, whenever I go out to move the Qashqai in, this is what I find about half the time. This is one of the reasons I got bigger rubber when the tyres needed replacing, the other was to improve the accuracy of the speedo, it showed 100 when she was actually doing 92, now it's around 98.

Deyon, your well detailed reviews of ADS and the fact you stepped up to the plate and bought just about EVERYTHING from them has convinced me to go the ADS coating route

I bought a couple other products to get free shipping too, wanted the Decon soap but it's sold out.

I'm renting a spot at The Bays in Wheeling Illinois (indoor detailing spa) on Sept 14th, 5 hrs total and it stays there overnight to cure and I pick up the car the next day, Sunday, when they open. The hard part...waiting a week to wash it.

I didn't see info on cure time actually, is it the standard 1 week Deyon

I have only used their wheel coating, but if there was a coating that would sway me from a wax when the S650 arrives, it would be either ADS Quartz or Gyeon Mohs.

A couple of points to note regarding the ADS Quartz -

- Apply the coating 1-2 panels at a time.

- This coating sweats rather than a rainbows, generally 2-3 minutes.

- You will notice Quartz, and the wheel coating, will harden the applicator quite quickly, so you will need to flip it over or grab another. Same applies to the towels.

- If you want to do multiple layers (one is sufficient though), allow 1-2 hours between layers.

As for the cure time, this is what is listed on the ADS website -

After Care:

Allow product to sit 12 hours at minimum for initial cure. After 4 hours you can apply our Armour Detail Supply AMPLIFY or Ceramic Spray Sealant to protect the coating during its initial cure. After 12 hours the vehicle can be driven and get wet. Do not wash or induce to chemicals for 7 days.

A couple of application videos for your viewing -

Sorry Deyon, one obscure thing brings up another one

Back on topic, sign of a great company! I'm not a first time customer of theirs, just 1st time buying through their store but they wouldn't know that

Looking forward to applying their coating next month

Order placed yesterday evening, shipped today

I hope they're able to maintain the quality and customer service over the long haul. They even let me know because of a bottle shortage that some of my bottles were different, up front and honest

I would suggest at first to apply it to half a door or 1/4 of the hood at first to get a feel for the flash time for your conditions.

In my experience quartz will sweat it you lay it on heavy, but if you apply the correct amount it will haze over more than sweat...(with a little bit of sweating). I dont like to lay it on heavy beacuse it is a waste of product and you will in the end just be pushing extra coating around and make for a higher chance of high spots.

I have so far after using quartz 3 times, have not had to toss any coating towels. I toss them in bucket of towel clean when done with them. I inspect after wash and have not felt any stiff areas from coating wipeoff

My Armour order I placed yesterday is on the way from Florida to Alaska as well

I opted for USPS Ground shipping because it was half the price of Priority so I won't get my order until September 6th
