I'm considering buying a bottle and trying this on my 03 cobra. Is it truly a 1 step? Should I still add a different wax afterwards? Or can I use Gyeon Q2 Mohs evo ceramic coating?

Yes, Speed is an AIO (All In One). Paint cleaner, correction, and protection.

The "protection" part is the Montan wax. (Poxy).

If using a ceramic coating, the paint must be wax-free. So using Speed would be nonsensical.

If this is the case, then I would recommend Speed for it's ease of use, wipe-off, and slickness.

But here's the caveat with Speed: It's an AIO, so the concentration of the wax is less than a true LSP wax.

Is 3D One as easy to use as Speed, or does the wax in Speed make it easier to wipe off, especially on soft paint? I’ve been using Speed for several years, and I’ve considered just using a panel prep if I wanted to add a coating, or some other LSP that requires a clean surface. Thanks.

Thanks for the help again! So many decisions it makes things confusing. Still thinking I'd like to give the 3D speed a try.

The car I'll be putting it on only gets driven in nice weather.

I mentioned 3D One because you mentioned a ceramic coating. Speed leaves behind wax preventing use of a ceramic coating after. One is a "1 step" correction type product and could be followed by a ceramic coating after a good panel wipe.

I find both Speed and One easy to use and wipe off. I don't like the protection durability of Speed. Doesn't last long enough for me.

I think it needs pointing out that there are potentially TWO related definitions worth noting, which Paul A mentioned in his last reply.

All-In-One(AIO) - A polish that can correct paint and leave protection.

One-Step - A polish that can handle paint corrections by itself, meaning polish out moderate defects and finish down well. Usually a one-step’s cutting ability comes from the pads it is paired with but that applies to AIO polishes too.

While I am usually on the same page of coatings the yellow griots pad is very soft - its softer than the white DA rupes pad IMO. You won't get much correction. I used them a lot - i had 2 of them come with my G15 polisher. Pretty much done now lol

The yellows are softish and more of a AIO pad when not much correction needed.

I mentioned for particular area he was doing. If not familiar it is more like piano black plastic trim. It’s pretty soft and the correcting cream will do the heady lifting.

If needed I would finish down with the yellow and essence. In my case wasn’t needed.

I have heard so-so things on speeds protection. But on a garage queen, summer only, in that color I’d do speed and top it with wolfgang fuzion or pinnacle souveran.

I'm actually thinking this over a little more. Since the paint is in decent condition. I may try a 2 step process using Boss Griots correcting cream followed by Wolfgang high gloss paint sealant.
