what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

I just clicked on the Apex video and watched about half of it

I had never heard of Phoenix EOD detailing supplies

It is amazing how much the detailing landscape changes in just a few months when you are out of touch with the inter webs

I tried watching the EC Details video and just can't take that style of video

Phoenix EOD is one of the Apex favorites. Think his page even sells it if I recall. I've played with their polishes + 1yr ceramic spray. Their RW and soap remains unopened.

If you were looking for a 1yr ceramic spray, they have one that's not bad. Really easy to use and good water behavior. It was going strong at 4 months for me before I killed it (intentionally). I think you were shopping such products

I’m literally watching that video right now just before coming on here. Trying to figure out what the heck a foam keg was.

In my day a foam keg was not something to be desired and was usually the result of poor attention by those tasked to transport it from the liquor store!

I just spent a few minutes on their website and I guess I need to throw all my existing stuff away and buy their "named after a YouTube star" products

I don't care how good their stuff is, I can't take their marketing approach seriously

Yeah, I am a grumpy old bugger

Ha - got to stay away from YT (and this thread)!

The marketing in this industry is a bit out of control.

Same here, I can’t knock the guy for having a positive attitude, but his constant attempts at humor just aren’t funny and he’s kind of all over the place with the presentation.

Now that’s the foam keg we all remember.lol

I tried to watch one (it may have been the one above) and it was like one long selfie/FaceTime video and he started out wandering through his house, stopped to eat some pork rinds, and started wandering again

I shut that off right quick

I refuse to even FaceTime with my family so I am not going to watch him do it

That may be the hot ticket for a lot of people but I am not one of them

Rant over

Looking forward to trying this tomorrow........................

I've never understood the whole "leaves something behind" argument. Usually made by someone who follows up their "doesn't leave anything behind" product with a spray sealant drying aid. Flawed logic right there. If someone was so concerned about not leaving anything behind, then perhaps washing with water only would be the solution, but even then, you will have some form of mineral content present.

Yeah it's pretty simple, want to leave something behind, grab THAT product, if you want pure clean, grab THIS product

Ha, so ECOWash is actually available now, and on the webpage they talk about using a rinse bucket with a small amount of ECOWash added, if you are going to use a single-media method, my usual method. Price is in the ballpark of most rinseless, $20/quart (liter in this case).

Why wouldn't you just use plain water for rinsing the wash media out, works fine for all the other products

Hasn’t it been like that for a long time with most RWs?

They tell you to add a tiny bit to the rinse bucket to make the dirt magically fall out of the media and plummet to the bottom?

This was off the Optimum forum back in the day (2018)

If it’s too small to read it says Yvan LaCroix says put ONR in the rinse bucket to make dirt fall to the bottom

A couple of people on this particular thread agreed

Just saying
