I am looking into a better drying towel. I have a harbor freight that works better than one I picked up at Walmart. The walmart does not absorb, Harbor freight is soaked after half the truck is done.I was considering the Rag company 1500, then saw Auto fiber.
Any suggestions appreciated.

I still like waffle weaves, the Dry Me A River is a little different than most. It's hard to go wrong with any of the drying towels from TRC or Autofiber--it's just that these days they are definitely premium priced. I have gotten some waffle weaves from Amazon, I think they were Amazon brand at the time, that were very nice, but it's a little more hit or miss. Also they have the Griot's PFM towels at AutoZone or Advance Auto, or both.

PFM

TRC was my main top tier towels .....for all applications....but after owning the PFM drying, their PFM detailing and Wax Removal towel are also 2 towels I use alot.

Speed Master Notorious Dry Towel.
I’ve been using it for well over a year and it still dries like brand new. Outstanding drying towel, comparable to the Griots PFM.

Whatever you choose, you might want to strongly consider keeping it away from any “drying aid” sprays because that’s what kills drying towels ability to absorb over time.

I’ve noticed the same thing with drying aids.

May have to give that Speed Master a try…

Detail Popo is a brand that I found through Carzilla. Kind of a hidden gem brand. Some great products, towels of a great selection, but really decent prices.

You won’t be disappointed.
I have the large towel. I just checked it and it’s very fairly priced for what you get.

Griot's PFM
I'll be the third person to recommend this towel. I love mine. I can dry a large-ish mid size SUV with mine and it never gets saturated. Not only is it really absorbent, but it's really soft too and I don't have to worry about inducing swirls while I dry.

I think it may be the post use care of the drying towels that makes the difference. I do not let the towels air dry after using them with drying aids absorbed into them. Sometimes that means putting them in a bucket of water with an APC in the water and soaking them till im ready to wash them.. Also I always use the double rinse selection on the washing machine and add a cup of vinegar to the second rinse.

If I do a foam cannon wash and use my leaf blower, I use my CG waffle weave towels to mop up the rest. They're absorbent and are great for applying a drying aid. If I do a RW, I used the Autofiber Motherflipper towels. They were sent to me by accident but their loss is my gain and they've replaced my TRC Gauntlet.

I'm not discriminate when it comes to the end of the -car wash- and what goes into the washing machine.
Everything goes all in. However, if I'm using a topper or anything in that realm , I always do a pre wash/rinse in the laundry sink before tossing it into the laundry washer with all the other towels that are not saturated in product. Depends on what is the use case, but I'll either put some APC as the pre-rinse or mf cleaner.

Since I use a multi mitt bucket wash I toss the used mitts in their own clean bucket and after the last mitt leaves the shampoo bucket I toss any towels I use in the shampoo to start soaking since the shampoo stays clean

I also wash everything that touches the paint together and use MF detergent, a pre-wash setting, an extra rinse setting, and white vinegar

Wheel, engine, exhaust, etc towels get washed separately
