You mean Preludio? I had a thread on that, some of us had trouble figuring out how to fit that into our process.

After that depreciation comment I had to look up who owns Aston Martin now. Apparently the investors who bought it from Ford in 2007 took the company public in 2018, so they are not owned by another car company, but they have had that engine-sourcing agreement with Mercedes-Benz Group since 2013. I have never tried anything from Koch Chemie simply from an availability standpoint but yeah, Carzilla is an option

I never tried Absolute either

I went for these two because unlike a lot of new ones these aren’t bought from blenders but the companies actually manufacture their chemicals.

Idrosave is I believe PH neutral. Don’t need to use their Preludio pretreat. Use just like another rinseless.

Their 3pH wash is just a 3 wash system to help clean coatings when the get clogged not something to use every time. Just once or twice a year.

One Koch Chemie product you'll love Crack is Mp, the best engine bay detailer I've ever used...period! It's basically a self leveling product and even with frequent wipes with leftover RW solution it still looks awesome, worth the price because of looks AND durability

Absolut is the real deal, check on Forensic Detailing to see how it did in hid VERY throughout review of it and 11 others

I almost got it but have a full bottle of Sonis to use up and love that stuff. Both from Germany wonder if companies related. It will be next.

I did get their GuF to use on my Husky liners

I know it's AMG - which is not AM. AMG makes terrific stuff, *especially* their motors, but it's kind of tough to have swagger with your awesome high-end British sports car with its _German_ motor. Porsche designs and manufactures its own motors for the 911. The more a marque just assembles major parts from other makes the more it approaches kit car status IMO. For everyday cars, no big deal, but once into the realm of serious 6 figure cars I like to see some serious in-house engineering behind the vehicle.

The fact that the AM is slushbox-only makes it a non-starter for me regardless of how and where they source their motors, so feel free to ignore my complaints. Of course I'm disappointed that it's hard to find sticks in cars in general and even at Porsche the only way one can get a stick AND an NA motor (of course I'm that guy that still wants an air cooled motor, LOL) in a 911 is via the GT3 which is a wonderful car but I can't justify dropping that kind of money on a *car*.

It's my own specific niche of what I like and don't like in higher-end cars that I won't be buying and I'm OK with being alone in my beliefs here. :)

Hey, I'm with you on that (Aston making their own motors)--I believe I have a picture somewhere from a long-ago NYC Auto Show of an Aston V-12 or something in the booth, I mean just the engine on a stand.

It's just a pity all of the eco-nannies have ruined the sound of those engines. An AMG V8 was once unquestionably epic sounding, think back to those Supercharged 5.5 and N/A 6.3's, even the earlier 4.0's were nice. But I hate the muffled note to the latest 4.0 versions, they just make one noise and that's it. Such a shame.

Probably, but paying that much money on a car, you'd hope it would sound nice out of the box.

At the end of the day, its those Petrol-Particulate-Filters, along with noise emission regulations that ruin everything these days.

Last week, I know of someone who was dobbed into the EPA for his too loud brand-new Mustang GT. Now, Race mode on those cars is not street legal for noise, but he was driving it in the default Normal mode which is easily under the limits. He then had to prove that this brand new car was 100% stock and that it wasn't above the limit.................he had to do that on his own time and money. Of course, the car passed the test, but he was still out of pocket. Just stupid stuff like that ruin's cars now.

I got pulled over for a Random Breath Test (RBT) a couple of weeks back, which I don't mind, it helps stop drunk drivers, and keeps us all safe, also I don't drink. The cop was friendly, he was asking about the FJ, and telling me about his LandCruiser, but I did see him turn and look at my tailpipe as I drove off, I changed the big standard muffler with a smaller sports muffler, and I think he could tell. I was considering a full muffler delete, just straight pipes, not any more.
There also bringing in some mobile noise detection cameras that will be moved all over the state, drive too fast past those things and you have to visit the EPA and get tested.

It's a give and take thing, the RBT thing works. It was brought in back in 1982 and is estimated to have saved around 6000 lives in my state. It's better than roadside sobriety tests, which can vary if the police don't like you. I've seen the stories of perfectly sober people being arrested and locked up, and later winning hundreds of thousands of dollars in compensation.

The noise thing is annoying, but there has to be some control, otherwise we would have idiots driving around with open side pipes. I love the sound of a good V8 or straight 6, when it's done right, but there are too many people who think loud equals good. I was one of them in my youth.

There are things we just don't get about you guys, but I won't go into it, it will just start debates we don't want. You won't change my mind and I'm not trying to change yours.
 
Yeah I'm sure breathe tests help, I'm more pissed about the sound camera AND getting a ticket...ridiculous

Someone from Australia posted a video on Instagram showing a standard random breath test, and so many comments came in from Americans about illegal search an seizure, and about we're giving up our rights. But it's an accepted part of life here.

I also don't like speed cameras, both fixed and mobile. They don't correct the behaviour as it happens. You don't know anything until weeks later when you get the fine in the mail. Nothing slows speeders down more than marked police cars out on the road. And this is from someone with one speeding fine in 36 years of driving, and I got it when I was 19.
