What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Your a pro, I'm not but curious if Griot's Garage has a polisher close/onpar with that Rupes

Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
Griot’s has a battery powered 3 inch polisher and I was considering it but it has a few flaws, one being it only has one battery. The other problem is that my G15 has been replaced and now my G13 is malfunctioning. From talking with more experienced detailers Griot’s has plenty of power to get the job done but the lifetime warranty will be used at some point. Both of my polishers had issues early on but I’ve learned to live with them but on my job last weekend I knew it was time for an upgrade.

My current plan, once my Rupes is replaced, is to get my G13 replaced and sell. I’m gonna by the cordless Griot’s since it can be converted to a rotary and I prefer a non-orbiting machine for tight spaces and headlights. That way I should have all of my bases covered.

At least with Griot's you won't have to wait weeks to get a replacement unit

This is the response I got.

This is how a few of the PRO kits went out during Black Friday. We ran out of the boxes due to such an influx of Black Friday orders, instead of cancelling your order because we couldn’t fulfill the coating, we figured you would rather have the actual product instead of nothing. So you received all of the necessary items that come in the kit, just without the box.

If this is unacceptable for you, I am happy to send you a return label for the coating, and once received back in our hands and inspected we can refund your money for the item.
NV were doing this for a short period with thier coatings as well, was due to a stock/supplier shortage.

No interest in flex machines? All my machines are corded but one, flex pxe80. It has come in handy more times than i thought. Just did some headlight resoration with it, i wish 6mm would have came with the kit as 6mm orbit and rotary is the only attachments ive found are needed. 3mm and 12mm are not worth it

Never thought about Flex. I started with Griot’s so I have a soft spot for their polishers. Their new cordless has a lot of flexibility and looks to fill the void left by my other equipment but I’ll check out the Flex.

Took possession of the new CarPro WheelX, can't wait to try it as it's been getting great reviews, like from Sandro for instance

Also picked up a 500ml bottle of Ech2o as my 1000ml bottle was down to about 1/4 tank

Next were these upgraded handles for my 5 gallon buckets, little things mean alot

Moving along I grabbed some felt filters for my IK foamers, thought I was getting low...I wasn't

On sale was one of the few products from Koch Chemie that I REALLY like...Mp (Motor Plast) This product is THEE BEST engine bay dressing I've ever used, now I've got a FULL bottle ready to step in so I don't miss a beat

Getting low on microfiber towel detergent I decided to try some CarPro MFX. Now I love my 3D Towel Kleen but it wasn't available, so I decided to try a litre of this, great reviews

I think I'll be going to The Bays next Thursday to wash the EN, so I've got a couple "new to me" products to try:

-ADS Decon soap
-Pure:est S1 (spray on, hose off)
-ADS EZ Beads

Jealous you’re so close to the bays… love that idea.

You say Moto Plast is one of few products you like from KC… which didn’t you like?

You should give Rapid Rinseless a try. My current favorite…

If Chris had ordered that coating for a scheduled job and didn't have time to go through "If this is unacceptable for you, I am happy to send you a return label for the coating, and once received back in our hands and inspected we can refund your money for the item." he might lose the job

Not trying to start a pie fight here but the product is shown in a box and he had a reasonable expectation of receiving the product in a box

What he got looks like a Chinese "Coating" from Amazon

Yes shoulda been customers choice.

I’ll probably keep it but it is a bit disappointing. It’s like finally going on a date with a woman you’ve had a crush on for months and she shows up in sweats and an old t shirt.

Couple this with the fact that my HLR75 arrived yesterday already broken and it’s been a disappointing week for deliveries.

Coating catfished! Where did you order your HLR75 from?

I love mine. Things an animal.

I probably shouldn't have said it like that. I've used their snow foam and it worked but I find their products on the expensive side

What do you like so much about Rrw, I'm listening

Great cleaner. Melts bird bombs like no other rinsless I’ve used. Good price for 32oz. Wipes clean no streaks.

Have you tried Feynlab RW v3? If so, how does Rrw compare?

Send me a pre-paid mailer box and I'll drop my ADS Quartz Pro box in it and send it to you. Never been outside my apartment since I received it.

I just got home from a trip to the city and a tunnel wash on the way home

Oh well...

Detailed Image. I ordered so that I would have it in time for the job I’m working now but sadly I must rely on my G13 to get the job done.

I had some oxidation build up on the plastic front section of the hood, it's been building since we moved up here, and the FJ is basically outside 24/7 now. I thought I'd see what I could do about removing it, or at least reducing it. I went with School S20 Black Diamond. I knew that none of my RO pads would get in to the tight space next to the stone guard, I looked at removing it but there were a couple of clips that didn't want to release, and I didn't want to risk breaking them, so I used a headlight polishing kit I bought a while back. It comes with an attachment for the drill, a bunch of sanding discs, a foam polishing pad, and a wool pad. The foam pad did nothing, the wool pad was slightly better, so in the end I went with wet sanding, not with the drill, I've done wet sanding before, but only by hand. Then I went back to the wool pad, foam pad, and some fine tuning with a foam ball to finish it off. I put some TWHS Graphene Infused Wax on it for some protection, which was good because it rained as soon as I moved it back outside. First 2 shots are before, but taped, last 2 when it was done. There are some water marks remaining, but they appear deeper than I was comfortable going.

The boss had a latte in the center console cup holder with 2 of those small stirrer straws in it. She was talking to her sister and managed to drag the sleeve of her coat over the straws and they flipped out of the cup and sprayed latte everywhere

I got out there this morning and found the straws down between the seat and console and vacuumed and then hosed everything down with ADS Pilot. The cup holders came out for a more thorough cleaning

There is a no eating rule in the nice cars, but coffee oopsies are inevitable I guess

It’s quite a capable cleaner but I’m not sure if I would buy it again

The smell was initially very strange to me but tolerable, but as I continue to use it the smell has become off putting

It has begun to remind me of a dirty ash tray

I know that sounds weird but it is what it is
