The last time I got a puncture wound from a dog was my own fault, but it was an automatic response. At a dog park an Amstaf was holding Buster by the scruff of the neck and wouldn't release him, I grabbed it and was trying to separate it's jaws, puncturing my own index finger trying to pull the teeth apart, it was sore for about a week. The other dog started it, but ended up worse off, Buster was going for the throat while being held, dogs with thin coats have less protection, and this one had some open wounds under the neck, they weren't serious, but we're obvious on a white dog. I only found that Buster had a couple of tiny wounds on the back of his neck the next day when they formed a scab. Him and his sister play by dragging each other around by the scruff, so he wasn't really bothered at all. I don't go to that dog park anymore.
